I would treat the dimension you hop to as just another setting within the game rules you're playing under.

So if you're playing RUE and you go to PF, then you use RUE's rules.

If you like the pre-RUE rules use them.

In my games, ley lines have various levels of stability and instability. Tapping into a ley line makes them more unstable and nexus points are almost always unstable. So a mage could decide to suck down some bonus juice from a ley line, but they risk "wobbling" the line and that could cause all sorts of wacky effects. Stuff like psychic backlashes, uncontrolled casting, demon summonings, time warps, unplanned teleportations, etc.

In my Chaos Earth games, there are no stable ley lines and they range from unstable to wild. Wild ley lines are...very scary.

I handle it by looking in the PF2 main book. Leaving RUE over on the shelf where is belongs while Playing/GMing PF.

--------------------------------------------
Use the rules in the PF2 Main book while playing PFRPG.

While playing on NS earth use the rules found in the NS,,,,.... I mean the NB main book.

While playing HU, use the rules in the HU main book.

one two three...a pattern. See it?
-----------------------------------------------
Be careful what you import so you only complement what is already there.
why?
because people actually follow the rules in those books to make their chars for those settings, w/o looking at books outside the setting's books.
----------------------------------------------
If you are D-Traveling a group, then for LL & LLN follow the rules of the setting (dimension or world), due to the different levels of power in the LL & LLN that are found on each and every dimension/world.
since the power of the magic and psi changes with the level of power in the LL & LLN of the world.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.
Reading and writing (literacy) is how people on BBS interact.
