Thursday was a nice day for me
Yesterday was my Birthday. 53 years old. Feel more like 33.
Spent most of the day around the friends I love. The weather was nice and I did a bunch of running around. Only put in about 5 hours at the office . . .
A bunch of pals called to wish me a Happy Birthday. A lot more emailed me. Warm feelings all around.
I also spoke to my daughter, Monica, and had a good conversation. She’s getting married in August and I'm very happy for her. It should be nice.
Back to work today. We are a week or two behind where we wanted to be, but books are still in the pipeline. Shemarrian Nation™ should go to printer next week (waiting on the cover from Apollo and some last minute editing). The Rifter® #46 should also go to press next week. Dead Reign Sourcebook™ follows and Nightbane Survival Guide™ after that. All but Nightbane “should” be available before the Palladium Open House (which starts April 30).
The Open House has been taking up a lot of our time, but it is going to be so worth it. Designing the 11 non-book products and prep work (lots and lots of preparations) is where most of my writing time went these past two weeks. Kathy Simmons has been a true godsend in getting us ready for the POH. A great deal is already done, but there is still a lot to do. I expect to place the order for tables and chairs, as well as order our Costume Competition trophies today or tomorrow. Otherwise, I will be writing and editing from morning till night until the next three books are DONE and to the printer.
Megaverse® Builder is back in stock for online ordering next week. I think Rifts® Japan and Rifts® Lone Star will follow.
Also spent time talking to various freelancers about other upcoming titles. Boy oh boy do we have some great products coming . . . some like Mysteries of Magic, Warpath, Triax 2 and the rest of the Minion War serie you know about, others you don't.
Sales were strong again this week, that's two or three in a row now, thank goodness, but the prior couple of months they were soft. We hope sales continue to stay strong and climb bouyed by new product coming out and role-playing fun.
Have a great weekend and keep those imaginations burning bright.
Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
