While it is not specifically stated in the power description, it can be inferred that Object Read only works on inanimate objects; it may be argued to also work on severed body parts, or on cybernetics/bionics that are not currently installed, but creatures of any kind (be they alive, undead, or artificial) are not objects in the context of this power.
Tele-Mechanics and its related powers are specifically stated to be ineffective against cyborgs and sentient machines (e.g. Archie-3, Machine People, etc.). Presumably, this would also include Biomechanical Nightbane and other "techno-organic" creatures.
