Where are my THREE days off?

Where are my THREE days off?
I’ve had a few people call or email to ask how I’m enjoying my three days off?
I wouldn’t know. No days off yet.
We had to ship Dead Reign™ Sourcebook One: Civilization Gone™ on Tuesday. (We didn’t think you or our distributors would appreciate it being delayed till Friday.) The book looks great and based on reactions from those those who got an advanced copy at the Open House, you are going to love it.
We shipped out The Rifter® #46 on the Tuesday before the Open House as well as putting in long hours of Open House prep-work, so we were all pretty pooped BEFORE the Open House even started, and it’s taking us all a while to get our energy back up.
Tear down, clean up, shipping and other work has prevented us from getting back to work on Nightbane® Survival Guide, so it will not ship till the beginning of June. I hope you understand.
Then I need to figure out what we are working on next. Jason Marker is almost done with his work on Fleets of the Three Galaxies™, and I need to get Dimensional Outbreak™, Heroes of the Three Galaxies™ and the first of the Mysteries of Magic™ books done. Plus we want to get Warpath™ out this summer, and another couple of Robotech® books started for a Fall release. Then maybe Rifts® Lemuria and Triax 2. That’s a lot of books.
I really wanted to spend some quality time with Mark Hall (what a nice guy) and Greg Diazcyk (another great guy) at the Open House and talk about their current books in the pipeline and future books they want to work on, but I didn’t have time. I also meant to announce that we are looking for articles for The Rifter (Rifts, Palladium Fantasy, Nightbane, Ninjas, Splicers, HU2, BTS, Dead Reign, and all the rest), but I forgot.
I just don't feel like I have the luxury of taking three days off, but I’m definitely going take it easy this weekend and might even take Saturday and/or Sunday off (or work short 4-6 hour days). Boy I am sooo glad we are skipping Gen Con and other conventions this year.
I don’t know if I mentioned it, but I lost my voice by Sunday of the Open House, and it was all but a raspy whisper by Monday. As of today, it is still froggy. Sheesh. My allergies haven’t helped matters, nor has the fact that I’ve had to continue to do a fair amount of talking since. Those 3 days off would have been nice and probably would have helped, but hey, gotta do what we gotta do to keep books coming.
By the time you read this, the 2009 Open House Report will be posted along with select photos of Wayne’s choosing and a link to 200 other photos (the 2007 photos too). We also look forward to seeing pictures that fans took.
New Non-Book Product
These are the first batch of items that debuted at the Palladium Open House. They include the magnets (one of my personal faves) and the three new T-shirts. Check ‘em out.
Next week, we will offer the first two Palladium coffee cups, Rifts® calculators and Rifts® dice bags. We are also looking into doing Rifts® baseball caps. We had three samples and folks went crazy over them.
See the new Palladium Press Release going up later tonight for more information and news.
Gotta go. Alex, Julius, Kathy and I are going to playtest Carmen Bellaire’s Rifts® Board Game for the very first time with veteran player Wayne Smith. (He's a vet because he played 3 times over the weekend and there are no written rules yet.) Then I need to remember to call my brother to wish him a happy birthday.
Thanks again, to everyone who made the 2009 Palladium Open House such a wonderful experience.
Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
