I usually run games revolving around recovering pre-death artifacts and technology, mutant creatures, slavers, and mad scientists; with occasional political intrigue and skirmishes with the Empire of Humanity.Icemaster109 wrote:so what is a typical AtB campaign consist of? Thanks

Re: Example Campaign Plots?
Artifacts in first edition usually consisted of cars, engines and computers. In second edition it's EGGs (Embryonic Genome Generators), Biotic Computers, Cryogenicly preserved people (humans & mutants), space travel technology, and fringe science stuff.Icemaster109 wrote:What type of artifacts and technology do you look for? Also what do the evil scientists and doctors do? Those sound pretty intriguing plot elements.
Mad Scientists aren't always "evil", at least not in my games. Most of them are too-curious-for-their-own-good creating new mutants (plants, animals, and people), others are poking around with technology and science that was lost/forgotten after the Big Death. Most of the stuff is the usual sci-fi fodder: sentient computers, nanotechnology, cybernetics, robotics, space ships, dimensional/time travel, and even aliens (or mutants that are mistaken as aliens).
My favorite element to toss into games that take place in, or involve, Cardania is tension between members of the Elite Militia and the Academic Underground. It's your classic military doesn't trust scientists (but wants to exploit what they develop) and the scientists don't trust the military (but need their protection from the Empire of Humanity). This is fodder for most of the political intrigue in my games, next to spies from the Empire and Gatorland.
