An exciting start to the week

We’re off to an exciting start for the week

I hope all of you enjoyed a nice Fourth of July weekend.

We had a pretty good weekend here at Palladium Books. Got a lot done over the weekend. Fleets of the Three Galaxies is almost finished and Wayne should start laying out the book tomorrow morning. It should go to the printer in a couple of days.

As for myself, I hit a few garage sales, trimmed the hedges in the front of the office, I helped Kathy Simmons make preparations for her new business venture, clowned around with Alex a bit, birdwatched a bit, and spent some time chatting with some of my neighbors at the apartment complex, but for the most part, I worked. I’m still not caught up, but working hard to keep new product rolling out.

Sales were up over the weekend

Sales were up, then way down, and then way back up, giving Palladium the best online weekend sales in 10 weeks, despite the one sour day out of the three. I’m sure our press release talking about all the new products coming out soon, helped. It is very exciting.

I just pray sales stay strong throughout the week. Heck, it would be wonderful if sales stayed strong like that all month long. (Hey, I can dream can’t I?) :) We usually see a Summer “sales spike” so that should be hitting any time now, but with the roller coaster sales we’ve seen most of this year and the crazy economy, we just don’t know what to expect.

New product coming all month long

Not just all month long, but August, September, October and for the whole rest of the year. See last Friday’s Press Release for details.

Nightbane® Survival Guide is still on track to ship on Thursday, July 9.

The new Rifts® coffee mug, The Rifter® #47 and our new catalog ships July 16.

Fleets of the Three Galaxies™ is on track to ship July 24, and it’s awesome. And the Rifts® baseball cap completes July releases. Followed by Mysteries of Magic™, Dimensional Outbreak™ and the Dead Reign™ coffee mug in August.

The Queen of Ghouls

Kathy Simmons was tickled to get her assumed name this morning for her new business: Queen of Ghouls™. She has decided to put her creative abilities to work and make and sell "life size," ghastly Halloween monsters online and at select Michigan art fairs (her first art fair is the Allen Park Art Fair August 7-8).

You know those Halloween dioramas you’ve seen posted on the Palladium website these past several years? Well, Kathy is now making life-sized “ghouls” – zombies, witches, vampires, wizards, demonic clowns and a host of other creatures that go bump in the night – for sale to the public.

Each one is a handmade, one-of-a-kind creation, and let me tell you from experience, her "ghouls" are awesome. People come from miles around to see her Halloween yard display every year. Now other people can share the fun and purchase their own Queen of Ghouls lawn monsters. Her store should be up in a week or two. We are very excited for Kathy and wish her the best of luck. Fear not, this is a fun, part-time gig for Kathy, and she’ll still be handling all of Palladium’s online sales processing and other duties.

Well, I better get back to it. Keep the faith and game on.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
