Day by Day Armageddon

You are on your own. The Army is MIA and our government is gone! There are no communications of any kind. Cities and towns have gone dark, and zombies fill the streets. The dead have risen and it would seem to be the end of the world. Help me, Mommy!

Sorry to rev a "dead Thread" (Pun intended)

The series Day by Day Armageddon is written by J.L. Bourne, and currently consists of 2 books (with a 3rd hopefully coming soon!)

The first in the series is titled Day by Day Armageddon, and follows the protagonist (a Naval aviator) during events starting January 1. The protagonist is keeping a journal as part of his New Year's resolution. He is on leave at his home in Texas when he begins to hear rumblings on the news and from the Government of a strange viral outbreak starting in China. The US Government has decided to send observers to help oversee containment of the virus. The entire story is told as if you were reading his personal journal or diary. During the course of the Journal, the protagonist comes to realize that the virus has spread to America, and with a fellow neighbour, he makes plans to escape from his hidey hole which is fast becoming apparent will be overrun by the undead. With the help of his neighbour they manage to make it out of the city, just before the US Government decides to nuke all large population areas in hopes of getting rid of the undead threat.

As the novel progresses, the protagonist and his neighbor "John" meet up with some fellow survivors and try to do their best to find a secure location to live, away from the throngs of undead that were not taken care of in the nuclear blasts.

The Second Novel in the series picks up where the first left off, and is titled Day By Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile.

I don't want to go into too much detail about the second book, as it will give away some spoilers from the first.

Needless to say, if you are a fan of Zombie Lit, this series is an awesome read - highly recommended!!!!! http://www.jlbourne.com/

Another series to look for in the same vein is - As the World Dies, by Rhiannon Frater. The series follows 2 young women (one an abused housewife, and the other a Lesbian lawyer) who happen to meet just as the whole Zombie Apocalypse starts.. A very good series, it consists of 3 books, and is a real page turner.. http://astheworlddies.com/

I gotta say I do loves me some Zombie Fiction!!

Check them out - and if you have others to share, I'm always looking for a new take on the whole Zombie Apocalypse thing..
