The warehouse is abuzz

Unread post by Kevin »

The Palladium warehouse was a buzz with activity last night and this morning as we sorted, counted, packed and shipped Nightbane® Survival Guide to distributors, gamers who pre-ordered online, and freelancers. UPS just picked up the first load, and will be back for the rest later this afternoon. Again, I can’t express how much I think gamers will love this book (and Fleets, and Mysteries of Magic™, and Outbreak, and Robotech® Marines, and ...)

We also got the cover in for Mysteries of Magic™. A beauty by one of my favorite artists, David Martin. We’ll probably keep it secret for a few weeks and post it online as we get closer to the release date. We’ll be using Chris Bourassa’s “Witch” cover (available as a print) on the next book in the series, Mysteries of Magic™: Dark Magicks.

The order for Rifts® baseball caps went in earlier this week too, so they should be available in a couple weeks. The photo in the press release and online catalog isn’t the greatest, and this was just a sample, the actual finished hats should have a cleaner, more legible Rifts® Logo and looks great in person. Me and the Palladium crew can hardly wait to get ours. Gamers went crazy for it at the Open House, and I’m not really into wearing baseball caps much, but this baby looks sweet.

Sales bounce

Online sales this morning were much better, thank goodness, and pre-orders for Nightbane® Survival Guide were very strong and are still coming in. Like I said, sales have been in a frustrating yo-yo pattern – up, down, up, down. Thank you to those of you who have been ordering.

Meeting at the printer

I spent a couple hours with Jeff Hansen yesterday to talk about Warpath™ and other stuff, and I had to run out to the printer to review and approve the proof copy for the new Palladium Catalog. Took Jeff with me. It looked good. FYI: The printer said they suspect the catalog and The Rifter #47 are likely to ship 2-3 days early too, so get those orders in if you want to get the books as soon as possible.

Fleets of the Three Galaxies

This flurry of activity with Nightbane®, shipping, meetings, etc., has slowed our progress a little bit on Fleets, but it is coming along nicely and should go to the printer by Friday. Wayne, Alex and I were at the office working till 10:30 P.M. so we are dedicated to getting projects done. This is another sweet book.

Last Monday's Podcast

I hope listeners enjoyed Monday’s podcast. Though I’ve gotten some positive feedback, I felt a little distracted and not in top form. I’ll be back with another podcast in mid-August, after my daughter’s wedding, to talk some more.

Alright, I better get back to it. Keep those imaginations burning bright and enjoy the new products. Plenty more are coming.

Sincerely,
