Very simple: They're actually incredibly powerful if you use them right.

For one, these are ancient, minor old ones. Think about what that means. For one thing they're older than any mortal race in exsistance and will have more magic items laying around than 5 dragon lairs put togeather. If it starts to feel threatened, it will start distributing these to it's minions. Sure vampires naked arn't much threat. Vampires duel-weilding greatest rune swords and Runic brestplate that makes them immune to wood is suddenly a lot harder.

For another, it has ALL circle and ALL ward magic. This means their layer will be coated in circles to make life hard for them. a circle of control and if it has anyone's true name allows it to send one party member aginst the rest. It can summon up leigions of undead easially, it can kill from a thousand miles away. It can summon /high level/ greater demons to serve it. Levels are important for demons. a level 1 demon isn't that strong, a level 16 demon loctus is quite another matter.

For Wards, the Death ward deals damage direct to HP if the TW Glitter Boy touches something. it can kill him right through the suit without ever having to attack him. For Dragon, sitting in a power matrix with a protection circle aginst magic will stop All of them from approaching it.

It can cast Armor of Ithan on itself, rendering wood and silver based weapons tottally useless.

Finnally, it has access to all Prototypical Deific Powers in a pinch, so it can if it wants to just start laying out 1d4*100 MD Hellfire Blasts that do double damage to the godling and Banish the Undead Slayer back to whatever dimension the atlantean was born in, although the player might be unhappy because he then couldn't return to rifts earth for 2d4*100 years. If it knows they're coming and they're outside, it can create a giant storm and start sending down 1d6*100 MD lightning bolts at them from where they can't retaliate.

Oh, they also have the Domination spell, fail save, the PC becomes their mindless slave. Very useful.

Honestly, Vampire Intelligences are more powerful than most GODS. Use them right and that party dosn't have a chance in hell.

I discuss Vampire Intelligences in there, along with normal vampires.

Killer Cyborg wrote:1. If you roll for Horror Factor, then all vampires and the Vampire Intelligences become a lot tougher to defeat.

2. Bump up all vampires and the Intelligence by 2 attacks to compensate for the Two Attacks for Living (if you use them).

3. Vampire Intelligences know ALL Summoning and Circle Magic.
Dig out your copy of PFRPGII and read up on Circle Magic.
A few Power Circles that a Vampire Intelligence might have set up for easy activation in his lair:
Force (Inpenetrable forcefield)
Healing (4d6 HP/melee
Power (Bio-regenerate 1d6 HP/melee, and can cast a number of spells for free each round.
Wonder (Heals 2d6 HP per occupant per round, among other bonuses)
Power Matrix (allows for multiple Circles to be linked).

So a VI who was well prepared (and had access to the right ingredients) could instantly surround himself with a forcefield that can sustain infinite damage, and also boost his regeneration by 7d6 HP per melee, and a number of other things.

Not to mention all the summoned minions that he could command, from elementals to undead, to spirits, to Faerie Folk, to Greater Demons & Deevils.

And he could also make a Summon Elemental Forces Circle, which would allow him to cast spells such as Change Wind Direction, Calm Storm, Atmoshpere Manipulation, Drought (prevents rain within at least a 1600' area for at least 4 weeks for a Vampire Intelligence), and Earthquake (among others).

And there are Protection Circles, just for an added bonus.

4. VIs are likely to have an underground lair where TW Storm Flares would be useless, and firetrucks would have difficultying going...

5. Teleport: Superior should provide a means of quick escape.

6. Negate Magic should help the VI resist magic attacks.

7. The VI's MDC of 1d6x1000 appears to be only useful against magic. Wood, silver, running water, and holy water inflict damage direct to HP, and the VI is immune to standard forms of damage.

8. Give the VI a bunch of swords. Vibro swords would work. It would add a couple more dice to its attacks (depending on how you play). If you play that supernatural punch damage doesn't stack with weapon damage, then remember that the VI can create a psi-sword for each tentacle.

9. Using a variation of the robot combat rules, a GM might allow a VI to parry incoming missile attacks with his tentacles, taking damage to them instead of his body (water balloons, for example, might be blocked this way).

10. Psi-Shields can be handy for a VI as well. Give a psi-shield to each tentacle, and it could form a wall of shields between itself and its enemies...

preacher koka wrote::-D you Guys Rock Thank you so much for your replies :D

LOL i cant wait have started up building the lair  and a alternate dimension with bunch of nasty's but don't think they will get that far, maybe send them there after they get whooped as a reprieve lol

Make sure to have all the intelligences vampire guards wear MDC body armor. IT says vampires can and do but don't like to, but if the Vampire Intelligence is attacked the Intellegence won't care if they don't like it and will order them to do it anyway.
