Off the top of my head I get:
- Speed/ease of travel.
- Bypass obstacles.
- Bird's eye view of the area/improved situational awareness.

Do the phrases "as the crow flies" or "birds eye view" ring any bells?
Roads? Where you're going you don't need...roads.
Fliers make the best scouts and couriers.
You can access high ground much easier than someone who has to climb.
Wings are cool!
Dive bombing! Death from above!
Pigeon bombing (ewww)
Having the power of flight does have it's advantages and disadvantages. Sure you might have to contend with being shot at from the ground, but you should be able to fly high enough to make it nearly impossible to be hit. Also, if you play your cards right, anyone on the ground may think you're just another bird. Big yes, but unless you are shooting at them or carrying a bunch of equipment, you might be able to pass as a regular bird.
Check out all the bonuses you can get for dodging, damage, and initiative you can get with the various flight abilities.
What's the worst that happens? You don't like it and you create a new character.

The Last Darkness wrote:Only real advantage I could see is for travel and escaping bad situations. Even then thats just for you and if your teammates dont have flight too then they dont have those options.
Turn this to your teams advantage. Fly away, and around to their flank or rear and hit them from two sides, or fly over and drop a few grenades and strafe them.

For one thing, BATS ARE COOL. They're the only mammals that can fly under their own power.
As a bat, you can hide up in the tree and spy on your target. "Nah, that's just part of the branch. There are no bats 'round these parts."
Also, there the 'spooky' factor. Only in China are bats considered gook-luck, and even in the world of AtB, the 'stigma' of bats being 'evil' can be used to an advantage. Remember how Batman used to spook his opponents?
I agree with all the above, that an aerial scout has advantages over a ground-based one.
