Zombie Apacolypse

You are on your own. The Army is MIA and our government is gone! There are no communications of any kind. Cities and towns have gone dark, and zombies fill the streets. The dead have risen and it would seem to be the end of the world. Help me, Mommy!

At a local Gamers event I met a guy claiming to be a rep of palladium, and he had an idea, a huge 100 person game, which I fell for (he was just trying to get a rise out of me since I thought the game is great and he was banned from the event for faking his affiliation) and so thought I'd see if anyone was interested in my idea. Let's do a game on the same day at the same time all across the US, based off of the Dean Reign game of the first day that the Zombie's arrivedt. Myself and a few friends at the local comic store talked about it later and then thought, that was a great idea. So, here's the deal for gameday, which has gone through a few minds.

1.) Pre-make 30 Characters.
2.) First 15 in the door sit, the rest watch till a CHR becomes a Zombie. the next player sits down and is handed a new CHR
3.) The "zombified" CHR is recycled(yes thinking green) and added back to the bottom to the stack
4.) The setting should be a high traffic area such as school, hospital, mall(a little overdone), supermarket
5.) There should be a difficult objective, (get to the military base a 4 hour walk away) so that the game isn't too easy.
6.) Fill the game with large amounts of Zombies.

So, I filled out the original idea and thought I'd bring it here, what you guys think? Input? Bad idea? Good idea?

While it sound really cool, it would be very very hard to pull off. There would be just to many ego's to control, and dealing with people you have never played with before. Personally I think it would be a nightmare.

Sadly true. I have a difficult time as a GM with more then 5 players in a group. Even then with 5 players we can sometimes get off on 30 minute mountain dew fueled conversations about Hobgoblins tastes in liquid refreshment.

It can get ugly. I shudder at 15 strangers in a play group.

Probably not, I think its just the likely end result of any gaming that is in its 10th hour with the only source of sustinance being greasy pizza, soda and orc guards getting knocked out of windows and falling on other orc guards (two for one!).

I see no reason to create a 15 long line of people, but I think the idea would work best at a convention. Run 3-5 of the charcaters at once, and when one gets wasted and if they still want to play have them take over a new PC. Now since you need to add a new PC maybe add some of the people who are watching the game and intrested in playing. But make sure you keep the total group down to the number of players you can run at once. I have tried to run 10+ groups on table top and ended up running two on differnt nights.

As for the online aspect, if you have a good core group of players you can run just about any PB game. But it takes a few year (at least two) to create that core group who is willing to join any crazy game idea you come up with.
