Perception "roll off" question

You are on your own. The Army is MIA and our government is gone! There are no communications of any kind. Cities and towns have gone dark, and zombies fill the streets. The dead have risen and it would seem to be the end of the world. Help me, Mommy!

I'll keep it short and sweet.
See page 179.

Would you perform the "roll off" when Carl's character is successful with his prowl roll?

I can see this happening because it adds an additional element of suprise to the situation if the guard gets that gut feeling his being watched and wins the "roll off" and turns around and catches the PC sneaking up on him.

Just after everyone elses thoughts.

P.S. Copy and pasting this message before i hit the submit icon.

i would yes, just use Carls percentage to prowl as a modifier to the roll off. ie. if Carl had prowl at 40% give him a +4. Alsothough, remember the guard may have detect ambush, or a perception check...

just what id think of...if Carl is successful, i prolly wouldnt give a modifier to the guard..

I do perception as Intelligence + Mental affinity +3%/level and with a +5% for every +1 you would normally get.

there, now its a percentage skill, and can be rolled directly against prowl, palming and concealment.
