We had a great weekend

- Wayne, Alex, and Julius stayed late Friday and all left for the weekend feeling fairly positive and hopeful. That’s a good thing.

I, for one, got a lot accomplished.

- I made good progress on the writing for Dead Reign™: Dark Places™.

- I plotted the next couple of Mysteries of Magic™ books and I have a new freelance writer lined up to help on the Robotech line.

- I took care of a bunch of small, nagging little things, coordinated with some artists and answered some correspondences.

- I spent three hours with Mark Dudley on Sunday talking and plotting various strategies and book ideas as he signed his 500 art prints.

- On Monday and Tuesday we pulled and signed a couple hundred books, pulled, packed and shipped out another 46 Christmas Surprise Packages.

- Mike Mumah has printed and signed his 500 Grab Bag art prints and they are on their way to Palladium. He's the last artist, and as soon as we get them, I’ll be able to package the FIVE art print set that is exclusively available to those who request one in the Christmas Surprise Package. EACH of the five prints are signed by the artist and limited to 500 copies. I think you will love them. This also means the couple of dozen Grab Bags waiting for the prints will go out by Friday.

- More original art came in for X-Mas Surprise Packages too, from the Manning brothers.

- Sales were awesome over the weekend™ and Monday’s sales were strong as well.

– On Monday we all ran over to Kathy Simmon’s house for a few hours to help her finish setting up her Halloween display (photos to come later this week or next). She entered a local cable station contest and they were coming to film her display at 7:00 PM. We had to hurry, but got it all done. Cool.

Then the floor slipped out from under us a bit

- 6:30 AM Tuesday morning, I get a call from my Dad’s roommate, Arlene, that she is being rushed to the hospital and that her son would be dropping my Dad off to stay with me again, for . . . don’t know how long. I straightened up and got ready to welcome my Dad a couple hours later. I don’t mind my Dad staying with me, but he requires a certain amount of care and attention and I have trouble sleeping on the couch which makes for an uncomfortable night and interrupted sleep.

- Dad is doing okay. He is worried about his friend, Arlene, but was in fairly good spirits. To help out he signed 250 books for Christmas Surprise Packages.

- I had to run out and get groceries and stuff too. And I’m already falling behind on my correspondences (sorry, Braden, Nick, Peter and others). Arrgh.

- I only put in about six hours at work Tuesday (half my typical day) and spent most of that time juggling money, paying bills, and working on X-Mas Grab Bags. Alex, Wayne, Julius and Kathy worked late.

- Wayne has been working on correcting and updating various books for special printings, including Chaos Earth™ Rise of Magic™, but it has been slow going. Our thanks to Jason Richards who went through the book with a fine-tooth comb and sent in a ton of corrections and clarifications for the next printing of Rise of Magic™.

- Julius, Kathy and Alex have been largely focused on processing orders.

- Wednesday morning sales were lousy. We’re hoping it was just a bad day and not a return to the roller coaster sales pattern.

- Today is Chemo-Wednesday, so I’ll be spending half the day with my Dad and the late afternoon and evening writing.

Trying stay positive. We are all excited about upcoming books and glad to hear people are loving their Christmas Grab Bags. Overall, things feel good and positive.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
