Christmas Gift Purchases

We are at peak Christmas sales season, so weekend online sales were huge. Up a whopping 72% from the previous week! Fantastic!

Monday sales drooped a bit, down 10% from the previous week, but holey moley, if sale remain strong throughout the week (and we expect they should), we’ll have the best sales week of the year. With any luck, the next two weeks will follow suit!

Of course the majority of the sales (70%) were Christmas Surprise Packages, and a big part of the sales bump is due to the fact that time to order is running out to guarantee delivery by Christmas!!! Get your orders in!

You have till December 16 to order via UPS or Priority Mail to get books for Christmas gifts without having to pay for a faster mode of delivery. So get those orders in this week and next! Note: See the last Press Release for complete details on shipping timelines.

Helping hands

Friday afternoon, Jeffry Scott Hansen popped in at the Palladium office to sign books for the Surprise Package.

Sunday afternoon, Mark Dudley came by and spent two hours signing 250-350 books!

Carmen Bellaire had come in the week before to sign books.

And my father, Henry Siembieda, asked me to bring a couple cases of books over for him to sign when I visit tomorrow. I take my Dad to breakfast and visit every Wednesday. A big snowstorm is coming in tonight, but warm weather should get rid of any snow and ice by tomorrow morning, at least in our part of Michigan. The northern and western parts of the State are being clobbered.

Meanwhile, Julius, Alex, Wayne, Kathy and I continue to tirelessly sign books for Surprise Packages. I just hope Julius survives shipping everything. (Actually, Alex is usually right there to lend a hand.) We calculate that we've signed approproximately 5200 products this season so far!

My thanks to the Palladium crew for helping to make the Surprise Packages truly special. They work long hours and never complain.

Other Stuff

Wayne Smith is busy selecting the articles for The Rifter #49 so I can assign the artwork.

Kathy is processing orders.

Julius and Alex are packing and shipping orders out as fast as we get them.

Me, I'm supposed to be writing books, but I've been writing Murmurs, Press Releases, and busy talking to friends, freelancers and business associates calling to wish us happy holidays and a prosperous New Year. I’ve also been dealing with a variety of business matters, dealt with an insurance issue, and spending time wrapping a gazillion Christmas presents. I like to send a little something to the majority of Palladium’s regular freelancers/friends to show our appreciation.

That’s it for now. I have gifts to wrap, manuscripts to read, freelancers to call, artwork and writing to assign, contracts to review, schedules to plot, books to write (lots of them!) and a host of other things to do.

Boy, a Santa's work . . . um, I mean . . . a Publisher’s work is never done, especially this time of the year.

Keep those imaginations burning bright and get those orders in to avoid paying for a faster method of shipping.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
