The idea is to run multiple one-shot games with groups of 5-6 players each. I'll create some prefab characters and keep things down at the SDC character level.
I'm asking for ideas & resourced anyone has/knows of.
-Are there some prefab PC's on the net to use?
-What suggestions do you have on running one-shot games?
-Any suggestions on how to best "Siimplify" the rules for new players without spending 8 hours explaining them?!
-Suggestions on what the adventure for the night should be to introduce new players to the Rifts world? I'm not committed to any yet, although I'm leaning toward the recent N.O.R.A.D. adventure in the recent Rifter.
Thanks for your input!

I don't know of any prefab Chars online but yu could just take a standard set of stats over the 8 Atts (say 8 10 10 12 12 14 16 18) and move them around based on the OCC you are making the Character.
Make sure it grabs there attention. One shots should be relatively straighforward with an attainable goal.
The rules are fairly simple until you start doing more and more things. Maybe roll Init for the entire combat scenario and not per melee will cut time down a bit. Don;t let them hmm and haaa over what they want to do. If they can;t decide they don;t get to act like real life to a degree. this will add to the importance and intensity.
Again it should be something relatively simple. Maybe each group is hirede sperately to find a specific object. All hired by the same person and the person nees the objects since they are all part of somethign else. That way the groups are interconnected to some degree. The Norad adventure may not be the best option to do as a one night one shot. Its pretty in depth in places.
