Cancer Free!

Unread post by Kevin »

I’m happy to report my Dad is cancer free.

Today was my Dad’s examination three months after his last chemotherapy treatment. My Dad, Henry Siembieda, age 79, has been battling bladder cancer for the last year. They caught it early, but the cancer was an aggressive type, so six months after a couple of small rumors had been removed, it came back, bigger and stronger. That tumor was removed and chemotherapy followed. Then the wait to see if it worked. So this was the big test.

I was hot writing last night so I worked till 11 PM and was up till midnight. To get my Dad to the Doctors this morning, I had to get up at 5:20 AM. They scoped him out around 8:30 AM and we got the good news around 10 AM. I took him to a late breakfast and I had Dad home, a little groggy, but all smiles by noon. I stayed and visited till 1:30 PM and headed back.

It was a good day for us. I hope Kathy Simmons gets equally great news when her 33 year old daughter, Tina, goes in on Februray 22nd for her bladder cancer exam.

I stopped at a couple stores to pick up a few odds and ends, gassed up, and stopped at my apartment to eat lunch. Suddenly, I felt like I was run over by a truck. I don’t know if the long hours of work coupled with the stress of deadlines, cash flow and my Dad’s test finally caught up with me or what. I took a nap and got to the office around 5:30 PM.

My stomach still feels a little queasy and I am tired. I’ll probably only work till eight and go home.

Computer issues stole Wayne’s time from laying out Rifts® Dimensional Outbreak™ today. It appears Julius’ computer has a virus, and some weird glitch has knocked out Wayne’s computer for the second time this year. He has pretty much spent the entire day getting computers back up and running. Grrrr.

I’m down to the last 18 page section to edit and write for Rifts® Dimensional Outbreak™ and the book is DONE! Wayne’s already agreed to work over the weekend to finish the layout and send the darn book to the printer first thing Monday morning. Thanks, Wayne, you're the best.

I’ll be jumping into Robotech® UEEF Marines™ and Rifts® Heroes of the Megaverse® next. I think I’ll work on them simultaneously.

Online Sales have been up and down, but it looks like we’ll end up with a decent week. Whew. Thanks to everyone buying product in these slow months.

2010 Palladium Open House pre-registration continues to come in 2-4 a day. Keep 'em coming. Join us for the fun.

The Rifter® subscription offer is a great deal and a lot of people are re-subscribing. Remember the offer ends in March.

I remembered to send out birthday presents to my son, Adam. And shot out a few Valentine's Day cards.

Gotta get back to work.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
