Ok, so lifeward takes all damage dealt to a person once their armor is destroyed and turns it into SDC damage, so they won't get greased right away once their armor is destroyed. What I want to know is how would you handle a person with lifeward activated who then either cast a spell to become MDC or in some other way gained natural MDC? Would he/she be invulnerable to damage for the duration of the spell, would its effects be negated until the MDC was reduced to zero or expired, would the spell be canceled, etc?
Furthermore, I'd like to know how you'd handle the situation with lifeward being combined with a permanence ward on someone. Would it just have infinite duration once the first set of armor was destroyed? Again, suppose later in life they became naturally MDC?

This is the way we handle it at our table, The protection lasts for it's full duration. If the character gets new M.D.C. Armor the clock on the Lifeward is still ticking, but damage is not converted for the new M.D.C. Armor, the spell effects the characters body not his Armor. If the new M.D.C. armor is depleted and there is still time on the Lifeward spell the Damage is still converted until the Lifewards duration runs out.

You said if he got new MDC armor. Are you saying that's how you do it if they put on new armor or a force field, or does that include having their flesh become MDC (which was more what I meant).

The spell only effects S.D.C. beings, It can't be cast on M.D.C. beings. If they became a M.D.C. being while under this spell, I would think the spell would be negated.
