Code: Select all

Unarmed:                               PP + HtH Combat skill
Melee Weapon:                          PP + HtH Combat skill + WP
Thrown Weapon:                         PP+ HtH Combat skill + WP
Bow/Crossbow:                          PP + HtH Combat skill+ WP
Modern Weapon:                                                     WP

The above is how I've always done my rolls.

The exception: in RUE is says that the ALL mechanical ranged weapons do not get the PP bonus to strike. The text includes bows and crossbows in the definition of mechanical ranged weapons.

I've always had PP Effect ranged weapons (Steady hand-eye coridnation helps alot with shooting . . .), but as far as written rules go, the one posted by drewkitty ~..~ seems entirely accurate (beyond the noted issue with bows and crossbows via RUE).

The above was just me noting what RUE said, not what I use. I do not use most of the stuff in RUE, and I did not buy RUE for several years due to the bad stuff I was hearing here about RUE.

Why do I add the h2h bonuses to bows and xbows? 1) all other ancient weapons you add the h2h to the strike roll, 2) the books, Pre RUE, never said that you do not add the h2h bonus to the strike roll.
If you ever done archery, you'd know that PP is applicable. But also how much that having a low PS score also hinders the shooter.

As to Thrown Weapons and h2h; both involve moving the body, so they would be combined.

I might also point out, for the fun of it :D , that the PF WP Modern Weapons, the only bonus it gets is the char's PP bonus.
