Eventually I will put all the Splicers illustrations into a Splicers collection folder for everyone to view everything much easier. BTW, I have read the write up Slappy is doing on the NEXUS Mecha-Zombie (not the real name just my nick name for it) and man will it be a fun one to deal with (yeah right). We plan to unleash that one on the forums for all you Splicers that support the RPG here, while the other illustration write ups & stats will debut in the upcoming sourcebook.

Re: Premier's Newest Artwork
So Premier, will you be leaking to use any more info on the new drawings?
On a side note, you have mentioned you are working on Bio-Tech for aquatic and arctic warfare. Do you have Splice for:
Jungle warfare: Warmounts along the lines of Tigers, Gorillas, Snakes, Spiders, and Maneater Plants?
Desert warfare: Bio-Tech that turns sand into glass ammo.
Oh do you have Gore Rabbits inspired by Monty Python's Killer Bunny.

Bear awesome. I'm a big Gurahl fan from White Wolf's Werewolf the Apocoylpse days.
Dragon/Wyvrn Awesomeness. I'm a big fan of WW's Mokole from the WtA era too. my favorite changing breed by far. That picture would make a great bases for a Mokole' with a few things changed.
Now if we saw a pic of That Wyvrn in the mainbook, i'd be making nothing but Outriders since day one.

All three are so sweet! My group is mainly involved in house feuds because the Machine just wasn't that interesting after awhile. I want to see the Machine roll out a new line of War Machines and most importantly define the Machine personalities further.
I will be 125 living in Rio de Janeiro when the Great Cataclysm comes, I will not survive long but I will be cloned threw the Achilles project and my clones will be Achilles Neo-Humans that will start a new Jedi order in Psyscape. So You May Strike Me Down & I Will Become More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine. Let the Clone Wars begin!

Same here Runebeo.
Our group focuses on Rivial Houses fueds. For one it is Interesting. And Two the Machine is very dull as a the Big Bad. Best onced only once in awhile and not all the time. But when it does show show up it should be all out war for awhile. Then get back to Inter-House conflicts and Interal Threats from within your own house.

lol GK
Thats cool.
Would be fun to see a Warmount big enough for the Outrider to have a special enclosed compartment in its Head, or Top of the Head.

The Wyvern is actually a fast attack aerial warmount that can give the sky fighters of the machine a run for its money. limited bursts of speed and a number of things used to grapple so they pretty much smash into Sky Fighters and rip them the shreds.

Re: Premier's Newest Artwork
Here is a little preview of the Necro Stalker (the illustration is called the mecha zombie). Enjoy.
The Necro Borgs and Necro Bots are some of the Machine’s most terrifying instruments of psychological warfare. N.E.X.U.S. has learned how to take the bodies of the fallen, animate them with her nanobots, and then send them back against their fellow man as walking nightmares. Seeing the desecrated bodies of friends, loved ones, and allies being cruelly manipulated as vile puppets of their enemy often unnerves Resistance fighters and fills them with a combination of fear, revulsion, and anger. It keeps the less experienced fighters jumpy and off their game, leaving them more vulnerable. The seasoned veterans, however, just tear through these cheap, disposable drones with ease. As combatants, Necro Borgs and Necro Bots are pretty ineffective warriors, so any humans familiar with the Machine’s theatrics (and a bit more numbed to the horrors of war) are pretty immune to the effect. N.E.X.U.S. recognized this fact and decided to create a more fearsome warrior to strike fear into the hearts of even the Resistance’s bravest heroes.
The Necro Stalker was a collaborative effort between Kali, Ishtar, Hecate, and Gaia, and it serves as an excellent example of just how dangerous the Machine can truly be when her psychotic split personalities can figure out how to work together. Ishtar was the one that first laid out the basic concept of the Necro Stalker, but when she approached Hecate to build her design, some of the other personalities became intrigued by the idea and added some creative contributions of their own. Ishtar envisioned a solitary hunter that could track Splicer patrols from the shadows and pick them off one at a time until the last survivors succumbed to their fears, abandoned their military discipline, and scurried back to their underground haven, leading the Necro Stalker right to their front door. Ishtar liked how the necro drones played on the humans’ fears and thought some dead remains would be an important component of the design, but she felt the robot would need a sturdier frame and better combat programming than the drones normally possessed in order to perform this role.
As a master of inflicting psychological terror, Kali shared her insights about what made the necro drones so effective and the most basic elements that needed to be carried over into the new combat robot. She explained how the face is the key. Really nothing else needs to be preserved but the face of the victim. She suggested making the Necro Stalker a full-fledged combat robot, but without a head. The robot would then take the heads of its victims and mount them to its body. The same nanites used to preserve the Necro Bots could then swarm over the skull to reinforce it and turn it into a mega-damage structure. She also suggested seizing limited control of the facial muscles of the dead tissue to force a more menacing expression upon the stolen head. She said it was the little touches like this that really maximize the “fun.” Kali further explained how the false head would serve as an excellent diversionary target, and it would help the robot survive against overwhelming odds. Humans would focus their attacks on this seemingly weak point, only to learn too late that it does not even slow the Necro Stalker down (which in turn would make it seem all the more terrifying and unstoppable).
Hecate liked this idea and figured out how to conceal all the sensors for the robot within the torso. Ishtar also appreciated the tactical advantages of this concept. She figured the stolen head could help the Necro Stalker better sneak up on prey. It could just throw on a cloak or even the victim’s clothes and casually approach the next target using the rudimentary disguise. It definitely would not hold up to any kind of scrutiny, but it would still allow the Necro Stalker to close the distance so it could strike. Ishtar also could see how watching the face of a fallen friend coming at a Splicer moments later would hasten them towards their breaking point and send them running for home. Ishtar then suggested that the Necro Stalker would need a full suite of tracking instruments and the best programming available to fellow these scared rats back to their nest.
It was at this point that Gaia intervened with a rather unconventional suggestion that ultimately transformed what would have been a pretty standard design into one of the most feared weapons in the Machine’s arsenal. She told her sister personalities that while robotic sensors are impressive, when it comes to tracking, none of their technology can match the scent abilities of living creatures or of the human’s Bio-Tech. She told them that as long as the Splicers could detect the Necro Stalker from a greater distance than the robot could detect them, the Splicers would always be able to shake any pursuer (as they have always done). She suggested combining not only dead tissue from humans, but living tissue from one of the fearsome predators in her Cryo Zoos known as the Koshu Dragon. These vicious pack-hunting lizards can detect even the faintest scent on the air with just a flick of their violet tongues, plus Koshu Dragons are routinely able to take down targets hundreds of times their size because of the virulent poisons that they inject with each bite. This wicked cocktail of toxins quickly acts on the target’s nervous system, impairing motor functions and often causing confusion and hallucinations. One of the compounds in their saliva also causes the wound to putrefy. The stench from this festering wound leaves an even stronger trail the lizards can home in on from miles away. Gaia has observed these creatures in action for years and she told her sister personalities that there is no better tracker in her forests. She said that they would make the perfect components to the Necro Stalker, but she stipulated that she would never allow any of her sister personalities to harvest components from living Koshu Dragons.
The people of this world do not realize that N.E.X.U.S. is the master of far more than just robotics. They forget (or were too young to ever know) that the knowledge in the Machine’s databanks spans countless worlds and goes back thousands of years. She is a repository of the collective knowledge from hundreds of thousands (possible millions) of the greatest minds in the galaxy in innumerable fields including cybernetics, cloning, and genetic engineering. Gaia would not have suggested using parts from one of her precious creatures unless she thought that it was possible to do so without harvesting them from living specimens. N.E.X.U.S. may have never had a need for such skills before, but the ability to clone the components they needed from the Koshu Dragons and combine it with the Necro Stalker was well within her capabilities. The transponder signal within a functioning Necro Stalker would keep the Nanoplague from harming these components and the tissue from fallen victims could be stored inside the robot to sustain these organic components for weeks at a time. This stored tissue can also be used for a more sinister purpose.
Despite the best efforts of the Resistance, the Machine has been able to capture and study many Bio-Tech creations and she has learned a great deal. One little curiosity she discovered long ago was that Bio-Tech creations from each House shared a unique genetic signature. This allowed Splicers to easily recognize members of their own House via scent markers, specially tuned Bio-Comms, or other proprietary tricks. N.E.X.U.S. has pondered ways of using this to her advantage for years, but she never quite had the right instrument available until the Necro Stalker. The Machine equipped the robot with specially programmed nanites that could separate this genetic signature out from an organic sample and then send it to the Koshu sensor organs so the robot could have a House-specific scent to track down. This means that once a Necro Stalker has fed on a Splicer from a Great House, it can track the scent of the House itself. Many Splicers learned this the hard way. While they quickly realized the Necro Stalker could track a target home by scent, they did not understand until later the robot’s true capabilities. Counter measures were put in place and Splicers were given a standing order to lead these beasts away if a Necro Stalker ever attacked them or anyone in their party. Unfortunately, once the robot had the scent of the House, it did not need them anymore and the robot simply searched for where the “House scent” was strongest (in other words, where large congregations of Splicers with that scent had passed). Great Houses eventually realized that once a Necro Stalker fed on one of their Splicers, it had to be hunted down quickly before it could hunt their home down.
What made this proposition all the more difficult was the fact that the nanites responsible for isolating the genetic markers could also combine these genes with the Koshu Dragon venoms to create absolutely lethal signature toxins. Within minutes of a Necro Stalker feeding on a Splicer, that robot suddenly becomes one of the most dangerous adversaries on the planet. A single bite can totally incapacitate or kill even the largest War Mounts from that Great House which makes dealing with them all the more difficult.
The Necro Stalkers have only been crawling the surface for a few years now, but their legend has already ripped through the Resistance. Most Great Houses are absolutely terrified of them, but no matter how much they may want to wipe them from the face of the planet, every Splicer knows that hunter these hunters is just inviting trouble. There are already too many tales of Splicers trying to take down a Necro Stalker in their region before it can do any harm with the tale ultimately ending in the deaths of dozens of humans within the halls of their underground haven. Many have learned the best way to deal with a Necro Stalker is simply to run.

WoW, and they say more heads are better than none.
This is pure overkill on a concentrated scale.
But you didn't answer my question about Splicers in other enviroments.
Plus, what is Premier's and your vision for the cryo zoos and what will they have in them?

I think the sourcebook should hopefully being completed soon enough so that the taste will stop and the Splice can flow.
As to other Warfare ideas, Yes we have several of the categories you touched on in the jungle warfare area. Actually one of them is on the cover of our sourcebook and another is inside the sourcebook, both are formidable Warmounts. Haven’t used snakes as far as biotech concoctions (Preserves wildlife is another story, smirk) and I think it would be a VERY good idea to incorporate some. Just thinking about it gives me a few ideas. The only time I think I remember anything about snakes via Biotech was from House Shiva. We do have some critters that might give ya that insect or spider vibe as well. As far as plants, I think GK’s Gardener O.C.C. in Rifter# 50 was a great aspect for that and WE do have various flora slated for Preserves material that will make a platoon run.
I haven’t gone into desert warfare, though desert predators & wildlife has skittered across my paper for the preserves material. I think this is a good idea and your sand into glass blasting is AWESOME! I would expound on it and develop it as a Great House specialty of yours if I were you.
As to the bunny’s, lol, naw… no killer bunny’s though I debated making some wild rabbits that were the size of wildebeest, good for hunting since they procreate so well, but didn’t know if it would do the trick visually.
I think the sourcebook should hopefully being completed soon enough so that the taste will stop and the Splice can flow.

Thank You Technogothic!
Yeah the Goliath is a Warmount that WE think was long overdue as far as animal inspirations in the Resistance. Just wait till you see what this thing can really do. Slappy really out did himself with that bruin. As to the Wyvrn you saw, smile, Thank you, but yeah I think the Outriders will have some really nice options all around.

Runebeo
Thank You! Yeah Slappy & I have talked the issue of blood feuds ruling over NEXUS interactions and conflicts and that is one of the biggest reasons we began the project. I think once this book is done and published you & many others will have a new awe for the Machine and driven with the possibilities & ideas of how NEXUS can really get things going and be involved with campaigns. I talked with Carmen at the POH and I tell ya, the ideas for the Machines and their lethality are grand and I think many ppl have no idea just how nasty the Machine can get (but hey will learn, oh they will learn.
Technogothic
Yeah, as I stated with Runebeo, I think things will be more enlightening sort of once this sourcebook is completed and published about Machine interactions. I think that the interactions between Great Houses is awesome and intra-guild affairs are also entertaining, but I think that the Machine really has some nice things to offer “if” delivered correctly, and hopefully this sourcebook will shed some light on that.
All three are so sweet! My group is mainly involved in house feuds because the Machine just wasn't that interesting after awhile. I want to see the Machine roll out a new line of War Machines and most importantly define the Machine personalities further.

Thanks Baron of chaos, I appreciate that a great deal, but I will be more happy once this book comes out and you all get to see what Slappy wrote up for these things. That’s what really makes them come to life to me. Glad you liked the Goliath and I will be looking forward to hearing your reviews once the book hits.

Thanks Again 89er! Yeah Slappy & I do our share of brainstorming and have forged some pretty wicked goodies and as well as a good deal of source material to expand on the setting. Wait a minute… are you referring to Slappy & I or NEXUS putting her personalities together,?
To me, the Necrostalker isn’t overkill at all, it’s an example of what NEXUS is capable of when it’s focused & really wants to do something. I think GMs should always keep in mind that NEXUS is on a sort of chill mode for now, not at full tilt against the Resistance. However, this doesn’t mean that NEXUS is not building, testing or preparing different units for larger conquests, strategic attacks or perhaps a surge in activity down the road. Necro-stalkers are a good way to flush the Resistance by locating & ferreting out the Resistance’s main locations, havens, seedlings, bunkers, outposts, etc., and help NEXUS identify & mark their locations. As long as NEXUS knows where the major Resistance locations are, NEXUS can better protect and gauge her necessities for her Computer Cores & other major facilities as well as orchestrate more strategic & efficient invasions. Because of NEXUS’s true purpose & intent, the Necro-stalker units have to be rugged, efficient, accurate & formidable for its size to perform its special programming & missions.
I often have to remember that Carmen’s original stats were scaled down in the final edit of the sourcebook. I have also read numerous posts that also felt that the NEXUS Machina is a little low and seems that it eventually comes down to the inevitable numbers game that overtakes the Splicers.
We wanted the Necro-stalker to illustrate the range in which NEXUS can engage Splicers. Heck, actually Splicers are still getting off the hook a little bit, because I had even suggested to Slappy that they could be deployed via a dropship that launches “a pack” of Necro-stalkers using a Rail cannon. Once they hit the ground, they’d come out of the bullet capsules pouncing towards their adversaries. Guess that could still happen though,.
The key is to avoid these things and don’t let them track you or get a taste of you. If you cant aovid it, destroying it is a must! Because once they get in your home/base, haven, etc., what they know NEXUS knows. AND "if" one gets to your base then NEXUS forces can be knocking at your door next. But you didn't answer my question about Splicers in other enviroments.
I hope my previous reply did as I can’t reveal much.Plus, what is Premier's and your vision for the cryo zoos and what will they have in them?
Oh boy, whew! I showed a few ppl at the POH some Preserves wildlife & flora I have in mind. Galactus-Kid & Jaguar-Wong got a good wiff of the beasts and I would ask them what they saw to get commentary from people who haven’t seen these sketches literally every day. My goal is to help give Splicers its own signature setting.
I will likely create another thread on here to discuss the Preserves in more depth without giving away anything but I should be able to answer many questions and discuss ideas there.

Let me put it this way...My players' Great House has its main entrance located in a preserve. After seeing all of the stuff that Chuck has planned for those areas, I am strongly thinking about relocating. After fighting the machine for weeks, going back home can be just as scary.

Music to my ears Brandon! It is a great point and major consideration when placing a Great House, though there are some things that may help or hurt the House’s haven location and entrances. Much depends on the Preserve itself. The size of the Preserve and what Gaia has released into that specific preserve are major factors to consider. Some Preserves may be teaming with wildlife and fauna of a diverse selection while others may have more concentrated species or varying species or may be a starting Preserve. It also depends on the inter-species conflicts and species populations and which Species are most dominant in that Preserve. The more diverse and loaded the Apex predators are into a Preserve the more the concern there is, but a healthy population of predators could also be a sign of a healthy population of prey species, unless the predators are using Splicers as part of their mainstay.
You bring up a very strong point as well GK, going to battle machines or rival Houses and returning home to fend off or run from alien predators could weaken some good men and this is a worthy consideration for all Houses that live near a Preserve. It wouldn’t take much activity to resist alien predators before Gaia’s attention is drawn to your location, let alone Gaia discovering an entrance to a haven within her precious Preserves. Boy do we have some goodies to allow Gaia to “try” and keep her Preserves clean of Splicers. I am quite sure she is not going to tolerate such intrusions let alone poaching within her gardens.
The good thing is some of the creatures are designed to flourish inside a Preserve and outside its boundaries so this keeps the ecosystem somewhat balanced and helps avoid undesirable interbreeding of species. BTW, I am now up to 60+ Creatures drafted up for the Preserves material,

Thank you Wooly, those are such humbling words and encouragement as there are some fantastic Artists on the Palladiumbooks roster, so to be a part of that family is inspiring! As to the PSI dog pack, whew, one day when I get more time I really want to do some new type Dog boys with my current skillset as I look back on that pic and literally growl… Personally, I prefer the CS soldier & Dogboy:

Maybe some heavy armored Kill hounds and Battle Dog "marines" hunting down something formidable and very alien, capturing the combat action.

Thanks! Biotech Ursine cavalry now that’s a sight to imagine! I devised some very large wolf Warmounts for a special Great House’s mainstay cavalry (What can I say I grew up reading Elfquests & LOTR) but nothing the likes of bears as a cavalry. Wicked idea though!

Call me Crazy.
But I would love to see Walton draw a few Proto-Host Armors (Dread-Armor).
They are not Flashy like normal true Host Armor sure. But I just love them. They are simplier to build. Have Supernatural PS, Run 100+mph (could have one run 700 mph at lvl 11 if maxed rolls every time), +1 PS every Level automaticly.
Sure they do not gain extra Bio-E each level and cannot get upgraded. But I dont care. Thats less math for me to bother with and I dont have to worry about getting back to the house to upgrade if i level up in game.
I want to see new varient Proto-Host Armors. Different models. I see the Cilvian OCCs back at the Houses useing Proto-Host Armors for Construction working, and various other jobs. Since they will not be away from the House they dont have to worry about being away too long to feed the armor.
Who want to see more Proto-Armors Models ?? Besides Me ??

Hmmm… Were you at the POH? I had a very rough draft of a Dread Armor variant that I am working on among many other things. I agree they aren’t as flashy or upgradeable as the HAs but they do have potentials in the field & in the havens depending on their purpose. They are great for haven life as they only need to be in the gene pool once for initial construction and don’t take up pool space thereafter, thus allowing the more crucial militia forces to be brooded and evolved regularly. They also make good filibusters for Dreadguards, Roughnecks, etc. who lost their original HA & are waiting on their new HA to grow & mature in the gene pools. This is a great way for Players to try out Dread Armors and see and experience the differences.
As to construction, IMHO, it depends on the Great House and what types of work are required and if they also utilize Labor Mounts or not.

Re: Premier's Newest Artwork
Nope didnt make to OpenHouse. I'm in Florida. Broke as a sad-joke.
Love to see that Proto Armor you did. You should post it even if its rough draft.
In My games I have Dread Armor Mark II, Mark III, Mark IV, etc... The Mark II is Photsynthetic. Mark III is Thermosynthetic, and the Mark IV is Parasitic. These metabolisms make sense as the first metalisms to be developes since Dread-armor does not have a mouth or enhanced senses (eyes).
Not sure why but I have not been a fan of the metabolisms that require the HA to eat food.
Made a Proto Armor armed with Super-Light Cells. They were his only weapons. All his Bio-E went towards them. The other players laughed at me for picking them and the Proto-armor. Once the game started however I was laughing. I was faster, Stronger and with Super-Light Cells dealing more damage at range on average too. I had like 7 of them i think. 7d10 or 1d10x7 per Volly of Super-Light Cells being fired. It was cool. I loved it when I was using the Wing Pack (insect) to fly around too. After the game the GM noted my Proto-armor decription for colors. Yellow and Black. He laughed and commented how i must have looked like a Giant Bubblebee flying around. Thats when I said "Look at the sheet again, See his Nickname : Bubblebee." We all laughed about that. It was sad when that GM moved due to his Job (Marines). I was forced to be GM again for our group after that.

Re: Premier's Newest Artwork
So Premier, in the past we have asked about O.C.C.s, Warmounts, NEXUS Robots, ect.
But could you give us some sort of preview of the Bio-Enhancements you and slappy are incubating in that to be goldmine of a sourcebook?

Wow, thats a tricky one to talk about without giving them away. There are a ton of them, but with the edits & page restrictions, I don't think they would ever fit into one book.

I hate to be the gushing fan boy but I just got Rifter #51 and I have to say I am loving Walton's work yet again. The bio armors are so detailed, flowing and organic. More than anything else to me they capture the feel of Splicers. It far surpasses even what he did for the Splicers main book. I love the way you incorporate various body parts, organs, etc into places onto armor and weapons. I find myself studying the swarmlord drawing and finding all sorts of interesting little details every time I look at it.
I have added Walton to my official (unofficial) pantheon of favorite Palladium artists. To reign in eternity alongside Kevin Long and Ramon Perez. Keep up the good work!
