Damage per body location

I've been searching the boards for a couple hours now and I haven't been able to find anything conclusive. In a targeted attack, what percentage of the total "main body" SDC/HP (or MDC) can a particular part of the body sustain before it's completely damaged or severed? Further more, if you make a called shot to some vital point (i.e. the eye) and succeed, is that a critical kill or does it simply mean they are blinded? Specifically, how about a called shot to some giant baddie like a dragon? I really don't want to see my big bad dragon dropped in a single lucky shot.

We've been using something like this:
Main Body: 100% (ex. 100)
Arms: 20% (ex. 20 per arm)
Legs: 30% (ex. 30 per leg)
Head: 10% (ex 10)
Eye (and other sensitive points): 0.5% (ex. rounded to 1)

This seems to work out fairly well, but I'm just wondering if there are any official rules that we can use.

Thanks in advance!

I think that there is a canon reference for this somewhere and that the head is 30%. Other wise what you have matches up.

There is also a rifter article dealing with the critical hits to targeted parts of the body.

I remember the groin was x4 damage and had a 50% chance to KO the target. So yes they do get pretty bad.

Take a look at the Rifter #30 where you can find some good optional rules about this. BTW, neck/decapitation is 25% of the char. HP+SDC total.

The Compendium of Modern Weapons book has the break-down for SDC and HP on the human body. My book's in the other room right now, so I'll look up the info later in the week.
