I liked it,but the one problem with the Rifts Movie that everybody seems to forget is that it's being made with Disney. That most likely means a PG-13 rating as the best rating the movie would have and Rift's needs an R to really get the job done right.

If they make it PG-13 it will have more about getting more eyes on screen then Disney. As for R you forget Disney owns Touchstone Pictures for those situations.

There isn't going to be a Rifts movie. Bruckheimer has been squatting on the script for years. It's never going to happen, and I think most fans have given up hope that it ever will. Same with the MMO RPG or any Rifts video game concept. Pipe dreams all.

I have covered the Rifts Video Game already in another thread (viewtopic.php?f=47&t=116731). Take the idea to Bethesda and let them roll with the game engine and graphics and all that. Just imagine a Rifts game with graphics as awe inspiring as Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

I agree with both of you...Derby and dragonfett. A JB Rifts movie would be awesome. I'd actually rather not see a bad one also, so I'm willing to hold out for a good one. That being said, I don't see it realistically happening anytime soon. The Rifts movie thread was started back in like 2003, and there has been no progress on said movie since then.
And yes, a Rifts video game like Fallout 3 would seriously kick ass. My unofficial nickname for fallout 3 is "Rifts, the video game" already.
All I'm saying is that with Palladium's dismal marketing, I don't think either will realistically ever happen.

Horrible comparison, but then, that's why this is a fanwork. Few games survive transition to the screen in recognizable fashion....or even quality(koffkoffwingcommanderkofffinalfantasykoff)....

The trailer itself is pretty rad (yeah, I said rad) but it is missing one thing... actual rifts..

Damn sweet video! Just like this video Rift covers everything so I'd rather see animated or CGI movies done then live action movies, live action would just come up short not to say it still couldn't be great. With an animated series of movies more things could be covered and no 350 million dollar budget needed to get this movie done right.

At least SqENIX had the decency to put together 'Advent Children' as an appology.
True it was basicly a fight / chase scene 80 mins long, but DAMN was it cool.
