What’s happening at Palladium

As you know, there’s never a dull moment at Palladium Books.

One of the things going on is that Palladium has been offered the opportunity to do a license with a local Michigan film company to adapt a very cool looking film, Jinn, by Exxodus Pictures, into a role-playing game.

We met with the creative geniuses behind the picture yesterday, saw a lot we can’t talk about and after spending a couple hours at the studio, we came back at the office and pow wowed for another couple hours discussing the possibilities.

I’ve given it a lot of thought. It sounds fun. It could open doors. But . . . as cool as the movie creators are, and as good as the movie looks, Palladium just has so many other commitments, I don’t see how we can take on anymore. The staff and advisors concur. For one thing, if we took the license, we’d have to delay a number of our own scheduled releases for the first quarter of 2011, which I imagine would cause Palladium fans to riot. Besides, there are just too many projects of our own we’d like to see happen. Of course, we’ll kick ourselves if we miss out getting in on the ground floor of a hit movie. Grrr. Still contemplating. Just one of the many things going on behind the scenes.

Carmen Bellaire dropped by for a visit.

I chatted with the always cool and innovative Aradio Brothers about some future business opportunities.

I discussed a number of plans and ideas with local freelance writer Matthew Clements, as well as with the Palladium Crew.

We pulled, packed, signed and shipped a zillion Christmas Surprise Packages that came in over the weekend. Okay, a zillion is an exaggeration, but there were a lot.

Weekend sales were very good, and the week is getting off to a good start. Christams Surprise Packages™ are selling like crazy, but we’re seeing good sales of all product. Nice.

Editing and rewrites on Carl Gleba’s Armageddon Unlimited™ is going very well.

As for me, I’m doing okay. Cards and condolences about my Dad continue to come in, especially as some folk only found out about it recently. Everyone who sees me or talks with me is amazed at how well I’m doing with it, but I still have my good moments and not so good. Still, I’m doing okay. I really believe my Dad is with me in spirit, with Mom and Erick and other loved ones and they’re inspiring me to not only press forward, but to be happy and positive. My head is reasonably clear, memories of my Dad make me smile and feel warm and happy, and new ideas for books, marketing and other things fill my head every day. :)

We’re planning some big stuff for 2011 and 2012. And . . . well, more later.

Keep those imaginations burning bright.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
