Paired Weapons
When a character has the paired weapons skill (ie gunslinger or battle magus) can he use both pistol's simultaneously to make a called or aimed shot on a single target?
Sorry if this is an easy question i don't have my books handy!!

I don'r remember anything about this on the books. Technically it's legal. But I would say GM call. I'd let an aimed shoot but not a called one.

Re: Paired Weapons
So I'm not crazy...I didn't think it was outlawed, but I definitely wouldn't allow a called/aimed shot on two different targets!!
No difference between called or aimed other than a minus to hit on certain called shots and it take three actions on a called instead of two on an aimed shot.

I personally would say that aiming on two different targets would be impossible. Your putting a lot of attention on a single target, thus why you are getting a bonus. Unless you have eyes like a chameleon, it would be impossible.

The paired weapons WP is only Applicable to melee weapons.
The only class I know of (off hand) that can use two pistols in the same APM (and not be shooting wild) is the Triad Assassin in the mystic China Book.

Re: Paired Weapons
Which Paired Weapons are we talking about? There is the Paired Weapon Proficiency for Ancient Weapon Proficiencies, and then there is the ability to dual wield guns with the Sharpshooter Modern Weapon Proficiency/

Re: Paired Weapons
The Gunslinger has the Whole package of the Sharpshooting skill.
-----------------------
When the term WP Paired Weapons, bare of any specifics, comes up it is Always about Melee Weapons.
[No, not all Ancient Weapon Proficiencies can be paired weapons. This is why I'm being specific when saying Melee weapons.]
To be about modern weapons it has to be coupled with the what type of MW's the WP PW skill works with.
Even then, the talk has to be about which specific class is using them as paired modern weapons. Because the use of the MW's as PW's is class specific.

Ninjabunny wrote:The Battle Magi can use two pistols at once and have sharpshooting which according to the Skill description of sharpshooting magic user can never have that skill. In this cases when it comes to paired weapons it is a point where reality contradicts the bases of the rule, Not only can people fire weapons (Pistols to be more to the point) with both hands they can do it very easily. I can do it in real life and hit my targets, I'd rate the skill as broken because Kevin didn't bother to research the modern weapon aspect.
My original question actully stemmed from one of my characters, a battle mage, using two pistols on the same target. I have also shot two pistols at the same time and I qualified expert marksman with a pistol while I was in the military. There is a big difference with what you can do shooting two pistols at the same time as compared to shooting one. An aimed shot is supposed to be about concentrating on a target (ie like a sniper) to give you a better chance to hit rather than just taking a shot at the target. Shooting two pistols and concentrating on a target to the same degree would be a lot more difficult.
As this rule hasn't been defined, and that characters in the gaming world are exceptional and well trained, I would allow an aimed shot on one target with two pistols, maybe a called shot but with bigger negatives. I definitely would not allow an aimed or called on two different targets.
