How do you feel about energy weapons in Ninjas & Superspies? Yes? No? Maybe? They're on page 156 in case you don't know.

Keep in mind that the feel of the technology in Ninja's and Super Spies is a lot different then say, Rifts or Scrapers. It's a lot more experimental and not nearly as broken.

I am good with it and I run gritty, real world type games. The fact of the matter is non-kinetic weapons exist in today's operational environment. Now they may not be the pulse laser rifles in Star Wars, but case in point is rail guns have been under R&D since the mid-80's. The concept is simplistic, the issue has been the energy supply/batteries and the overall cost. I am sure there is a prototype or two out there. The other one that comes to mind is electromagnetic non-lethal dispersion weapons. If that's not a W.P. Energy Weapons, then I don't know what is.

I think of energy weaponry in N&S on larger 'mounted' scales rather than hand held. Though the US military technically has green or blue lasers that can light a cigarette or blind someone, they aren't the 'burn someone in half' sort of laser.

However, I could totally see mounted industrial style lasers used as execution tools (Goldfinger, anyone?) or mounted as defense or anti-personnel/anti vehicle.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised they don't have vehicle-mount energy weapons for N&S.
