Space Opera and the Thundercloud Galaxy

It begins with the Scramble, a massive colonization effort to grab planets, resources and new homes for various races. On the heels of the colonists are pirates, smugglers and others who wish to get their share however they can. Galactic police forces and even the military are stretched thin. Everything is happening so quickly that those who have the skill and training and who can think on their feet, can help or hinder this great project. There are rogues who need to be stopped by heroes. Planets with ancients ruins and even remnants of lost high technology. Mining operations, legal and illegal. Lost artifacts of an alien nature.

I think there's room for hundreds of adventures in the Thundercloud. This has the kind of space opera feel that I love. Whether you're a Rifts fan or not, you can build your own colony world, add some secrets and mysteries and send players through the many challenges they'll come across.
