Summoning Specific Peeps

There are many different O.C.C. abilities and magic rituals and spells that allow creatures to be summoned and controlled. Please tell me whether the scenarios I present are plausible using any/some/all of these powers:

i) Bob the Dragon Hatchling has been captured by the Coalition to be studied by their scientists. Could Bob be summoned to free him from captivity?

ii) A town is controlled by a Brodkil tyrant, and a group of heroes is recruited to liberate the town. Could the Brodkil be summoned:
a) directly to a prison cell?
b) to a tactically disadvantageous location, such as the bottom of a clear valley, into an ambush situation?

Thanks in advance,

Grim

If the group has a summoner, or has hired one, and they have the Com's/SN's true name, then they can be specifically summoned.
This is assuming that the summoning is a T-/D-port to the place they are being summoned to.

There is no spell that can reliably summon most dragon types, though there are a few specific ones that can. If he happens to be one of them the serpant circle covers, than yes, otherwise, no. If he is one of the summonable types, you need his true name.

Yes, but in all cases of summoning whatsoever, the only way to get a spcific individual is to know their True Name. No other way works.

If Bob is an ally, a Summon Ally spell would work.

Alrighty!

Here's another scenario: John Doe has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. A Shifter is hired by John Doe's family to summon him back from his captors. What could the kidnappers do to prevent the summoning from working? I imagine a Sanctum spell would work, is there anything else?

A Dimensional Barrier spell blocks ALL forms of teleporation and dimensional transfer. It would prevent the target from being moved.

Thank you.

And, once again just to clarify, ANYONE can be summoned, even non-Supernatural characters? Provided you have their True Name, of course.

Any non-supernatural creature can only be summoned by the summon ally spell, which has strict range limits.

Otherwise, the only way is with the Summon Pawn circle, which requires their true name, and of course the materials for the circle itself.

Just reread the spell description and can't see where it stipulates the ally cannot be supernatural. I am referring to the spell Summon Ally described in the Book of Magic.
