The new and revised Rifts Vampire Kingdoms is shipping now! Yes, it came in early. We're talking about 224 pages of vampire goodness.

Working my way through it now. (Snagged the first sold copy at Gen Con but haven't had time to go through it.)
There are some definite changes in the book that bring it more in line with RUE. It is now harder to decapitate a vamp that is actively resisting (either a nat 20 or a 24 with bonuses) and it is more difficult to hit a vamp's heart with a ranged weapon. However, the inclusion of the new vampire types really makes me wish that the Vampire Sourcebook were already out so that I could shift my current campaign over to Mexico for a bit.
It really is a much-needed update to a book that came out in 1991 originally.

My FLGs should be getting there copies Friday. I wonder if it is just as self contained as the original version or do you need both books.

Good job, sirrah. Enjoying every page that I've read thus far (even the handful of new powers that you've given to the Vamps like "Partial Disguise" and "Pheromone Charm" -not that these guys needed it).
Pretty damned good book, even for a remake/update.
