Mini-Update October 11, 2011
Alliance Open House went great. This is a trade show where we meet with 150+ retailers, talk about upcoming products, make recommendations and give away copies of The Rifter® and flyers for upcoming releases.
We were glad to hear that Retailers were anxious for new releases and were excited about everything in the pipeline from Robotech to Dead Reign. We also got a lot of positive feedback from Retailers and the Alliance staff.
Chatted with Steve Jackson (yes, of Steve Jackson Games) and Wayne snapped a picture of the two of us in the same space-time continuum. In some circles, there has been a fun, long-standing rumor that Steve Jackson and I are the same person as we are never seen at the same convention at the same time. When we were younger, Steve and I also shared a striking resemblance. This photo proves that Steve and I are two distinctly different people or at least two realities are colliding.
The only downer at the convention was my being exposed to feathers. I’m extremely allergic. Hotel housekeeping left a feather pillow in the closet. I didn’t discover it until having spent four hours in the room. I still have a headache, ringing ears, stiff neck from swollen glands and sinuses, and general discomfort. Hopefully, I’ll be better tomorrow.
The first 50 or 60 Christmas Surprise Packages shipped today. The vast majority were shipped Media Mail (as per customer request) so it can take anywhere from 3-14 days for delivery (longer during the holidays). I always make the first 50 or so pretty packed, so you guys and gals should be happy with your Surprise Packages. We’ll be shipping out X-Mas Surprise Packages every day or two, so keep ‘em coming.
The Rifter® #56 ships this Friday.
Robotech® New Generation. I think all the artwork is now in. Just waiting for approval from Harmony Gold. As soon as we get it, we are ready to paste up and send the book to the printer.
Rifts® Lemuria, I'm dying to finish this book. Spent most of today on signing books and shipping X-Mas Surprise Packages.
Rifts® Vampires Sourcebook is next to be finished.
Dead Reign™ Sourcebook 3: Endless Dead will quickly follow the Vamps sourcebook. I’m dying to write it too.
Matthew Clements took a break from writing Rifts® Northern Gun to work on his Rifts® comic book project. He'll be back on NG in a day or two.
There are a great many projects in development. All exciting. My focus for the rest of the year is to get the next 5-6 books to the printer and in YOUR hands.
That’s it for now. My head’s killing me. I’m tired and feeling down. Today is the anniversary of my Dad’s passing, and I’m missing him. Consequently, it was nice to hear from my son, Adam, today.
Keep those X-Mas Surprise Package orders coming. We’ll be shipping them out every day or two.
