Weekend ended better than it started

The weekend ended better than it started.
The weekend started off full of potential but quickly slid downhill. Ah, but as fate would have it, the pendulum would swing in Palladium’s favor.
Onlines sales started out soft. Saturday sales overnight were worse. My heart sank, but we pressed on anyway. "New books," I grumbled to myself. "We need new releases." So I focused hard on books.
Wayne and Alex worked the weekend editing and doing other things that needed to get done.
Me, I focused on writing. A lot of writing. For the first time in weeks I found time to devote a couple days to editing and writing, and it was nice.
Chuck Walton came in Saturday evening to discuss the final art for Rifts®:Path of the Storm™. I liked what I saw, but was disappointed with the slow level of progress. Chuck sat down to do more work on the cover and was still here, at the Palladium office, when I left for the day a little before 9:00 PM.
Despite disappointing sales Sunday morning, I put in some more writing time, took a break to see Real Steel which I enjoyed very, very much, and spent an hour or two helping Kathy Simmons tear down the last of her Halloween display. Palladium fans coming to the 2012 Palladium Open House will see at least the zombie portion because she has plans for a cool display of them at the POH.
Around 5:00 PM I came back to the office to get in some more work. Alex and Wayne were already there. Kathy popped in to sign some books for Grab Bags and to invite us to dinner. At 8:00 PM we called it a day and went over to Kathy Simmons' house for dinner. We spent a couple hours watching TV and vegging out before heading home.
I got up at 6:15 this morning feeling good about the work we had gotten done over the weekend. It wasn’t as much as I had wanted, but we did get a decent amount done. Then, I got the good news that Sunday night online sales were super. So super it turned an abysmal weekend into a very good weekend of sales. Whew, what a relief. Hopefully, the super-sales continue.
There were also some nice comments among the Christmas Surprise Packages and a very kind gesture from a fan friend in Germany. Thank you.
So now I’m starting this morning feeling pumped up and raring to go. My calendar is relatively clear and I plan on writing and editing all week long. Finally.
Books should be coming SOON! And don’t underestimate Rifts®:Path of the Storm™. It is well worth the $12.95 price. In fact, a couple Palladium insiders suggested we should be selling it for the $16.95 price typical for a book that size. But it is good stuff and I wanted to get it into people’s hands, so I gave it a price that I hope people will not hesitate to spend to give the book a try. I know people will enjoy the story.
That's my weekend at Palladium. Gotta get back to writing. Thank you for your continuing support and words of encouragement. Game on.
Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
