Plot Coupon.
And apparently it really ticks off players (some players, sometimes). But as a GM its always been good for me. I guess its OK to use so long as they arent obvious. And if each one has a practical use or sentimental value, they stop being coupons and turn into Mcguffins.

Every story element thats ever been done has some sort of cute description and standard definition. Which is kind of annoying if you think about it.
