Unseen Advantages (Alighment and Magic)

I am one of those dorks who actually thinks principled characters are cool but I am the first to admit the inability to capture your enemies weapons or power armor makes scrupulous suddenly look very appealing. A lot of the time it seems like it is a lot harder for a principled character but at long last I have found a single advantage that makes it
almost seem worth not 'liberating' the antagonists Death's Head... and here it is...
the charmed individual will not do anything that is contrary to his alignment or character.
Im not sure how much Charm spells effect game play but Ive suffered at their hands a fair bit through my gaming career and been forced to do things that have not only made my character look like an idiot but violate his personal ethics. It is good to see that isn't the case in Rifts.
I know it is a little advantage, but the Principle's
prudish personality can actually go a long way to protecting his integrity while under the effects of charm!
I'd love to know if there are other ways that alignment effects magic/spells or their uses if you have ever encountered or thought of any yourself.

While I don't have any mechanical advantage of them, one of my local players often starts Principled and sees how long he can hold out as it. His current character lasted for some time, before first a forced act of desperation knocked him down to Scrupulous, and later some badness happened and left him with an alignment reversal insanity (one the party has yet to discover).

Sounds interesting! (PM me the details if youre scared your players might read it here lol)

Better yet, click the link in my Sig
While I'm no where near writing up to that point, haven't even introduced Sebastion yet
Let's just say he has a habit of grabbing unholy, evil relics that may or may not be the physical remains of Xy and has picked up a few inanities for his trouble. The first time it was the only way he could see getting it away from the Deevils gunning for it (they where told from the start touching them was bad news, along with using magic near them), which he got a phobia of Bats and Darkness for. The second he used a temporal spell (Time Slip) to evade capture and the party had to wait a month for the spell to elapse (after getting away themselves from a pack of chaos Minotaur), ending up with a subtle obsession with one of the other party members and a fear of being alone. The alignment shift was caused by basically acting as a physical and spiritual medium for Utu's reincarnation.

Thats awesome!
"We're gonna have to wait..."
"How long?"
"He shouldn't be too long..."
1 Month Later.. "I need to shave."
"I need a bath"
"I need to kick the Temporal Wizards ass."
*Spell Ends*"Hey Guys, did I miss anything? I'm a-scared-a bats now!"
I'll read through your fan fic now, sounds like you have a lot of fun in it. I started writing (what will hopefully be a comic book soon) called
RIFTS: DIVISION 6. You can check it out in my signature. The heroes haven't made an appearance in the story yet (that's only like 30-45 minutes of writing) but I've gotten a few "great job" PM's so hopefully you'll enjoy it.. or hate it but want to see where its going... either response would be better than nothing!
