Chiang-Ku Tattoo Master

This is my first time making a dragon and it came down to a Great Horned or Chiang-ku hatchling.

Having just had a shifter Tattoo magic seemed more interesting than another "traditional" invocation spell caster.

My question is about planning what tattoos to get. Proper prior planning prevents pis-poor performance (best quote imo)

I looked at my BoM and and rifter 52 for tattoos. Here are the some I'd like to get in the future.

1. Skull wrapped in thorns : death touch

2. & 3.Flaming Shield & Ghost shield combined : defence

4. Cloud wrapped in a chain (looks like a cheese log but is awesome) : all arounder

5. monster tattoo w/flux tattoo swarm : awesome (maybe never on the flux tattoo since it takes like 26 tattoos to be eligible for)

10ish. heart wrapped in chains or the cosmo-knight reminiscent armor from Rifter 52 : on the back burner I would be a dragon. theres some good hp as a hatchling lowest hp is 100

That was the easier part for me. What I could use help with is other good tattoos and combinations of power tattoos via link.

Both tattoos are activated and share the duration of whichever is longest. So instead of lasting for one or two melees per level it could be a half an hour per level.

I've never fought vampires since I "gm" ( if you could call it that ) more often then not so I am not looking for combos with heart impaled on a stake for the longest duration.

Some things to keep in mind : hatchling ppe could be from 88-148 so I can't burn all of it at once and there may be a few fights through the scenario within minutes or hours.

I plan to be in melee often since i was lurking in the shadows debilitating the enemies behind a Mycean commando as a shifter before

there may be another dragon or two since they wanted a higher powered game (free dragon bones for me > : ) i've warned them dragons
dont like other dragons

using rifter 25 i selected physical psionics like: Alter Aura, Enhance Reflexes, Resist Damage, Resist Magic, Strength of Mind

the new rifter tattoos- if chiang-ku dont know it then I'll most likely never be able to get it, but who knows

Thanks for another point of view responders,
Dan

Sorry, but tattoos are the same as spells in that they are seperate incantations and have to be cast setely.

Dragon outside of their territory are not as antaganistic against each other. The Dragon Wright in Splynn is a perfect example of Dragons coexisting and working together.

As with any true magic casters Chiang-Kus can learn the new tattos like LlWs can learn new spells. It would be up to the GM to say if you know them at birth or not. If not he can hand them out later.

As some one who has played a Chiang-Ku, they can be fun because you need to be subtle in alot of their actions. Just remember that unlike the bigger Dragons you can maintain you human form indefinately and can learn to use armor and weapons.

Seems to me on page 48 WB:3 England they start with full knowledge of both Tattoos (not counting power arrows or the new rifter tattoos unless stated) and the elixir of power and deceit, however it is very specific on what tattoos you get at level 1.

Yes tattoos mimic incantations but once activated can last longer, only take 1 action instead of multiple, and are reusable for the duration. That is how I viewed them as different.

For Tattoo combos using the Tattoo link Flux Tattoo?

Offensive + Defensive. Link the Armour and a Weapon Tattoo, or with a tattoo that provides an energy blast

or Link 2 weapons for 'paired weapons'

or Link 2 animals/monsters together, if you do this a few times you can put a bunch of extra combatants on the field right quick.

or if you are gonna use a movement power like flight or speed, linking that with the armour instead of an offensive power.

if you are gonna use Power Arrows and a bow, link the bow with one of the power arrows, or link 2 of the power arrows together for increased payload and offensive options....

This was just a few thoughts, and some food for thought.

It's not as important when playing a dragon, but whenever I play a True Atlantean, I always go for the knight armor tattoo. You can never have too much M.D.C.

Khanibal; Why not the Invulnerability Tattoo instead? or is that what you meant?
