What is your favorite faerie pranks? I will be doing an encounter in PFRPG, and am looking for funny ideas that will not have lasting consequences.

Switching the contents of each character's packs. It can take a while for anyone to notice and isn't usually fatal.

Can be embarrassing if a character had something in their pack that the others don't know about since sorting the contents of each pack to identify the proper owner makes keeping items secret pretty difficult.

I have them let the players taste the sweet nectar of their faerie food and then promise them that there will be more and not deliver it. For a really mean prank I let the faerie (not fae) let them taste two courses of a trilogy (start and main course) and then still not let them taste the third part of that trilogy (which we'll name desert) for at least ten years later even though it was promised they'd have it in 2012.

Flour bomb all of the doors of a dungeon.
Tar and feather them while they are sleeping.
Replace all of their alcohol with vinegar.
Fill their shoes with spiders.
Coat their feet in honey so they wake to bears licking their toes.
*Sniff, Sniff* Why does it smell like wet dog in here?!

My group stopped in a abandoned town in the middle of the woods all that was there was some abandoned buildings, a locked town hall and a lot of goats, as they broke into the building the goats showed their true form as pucks. When the group came back they found most of their food was now mush and their tires blown except for the wagon with the cross on it. It did not really hurt them but they remembered it to this day.

Also my gm once gave us bags of gold or we thought they all were turns out half of them are filled with enchanted stones of petrification ended up being a prank and later a blessing.

Thanks for the ideas, I will be using a lot of these, and after a night fun I will make sure that the honeyed feet and the bear wake up the most easily embarrassed player.

insert fae food into rations
undo the stitching on, anything that has stitching like clothing, sacks, back packs etc
frighten them while traveling with noises, distant "glowing eyes"
glue their swords into their scabbards
cut their hair
glue fur on them
glue down on them
saw through handles of wooden weapons just so that it looks intact unless they look then when used it breaks
replace their water with other animal urine
glue berries: Berries that taste delicious but slowly glue their mouth shut in one melee and then in a day, they turn blue for 24 hours causing them to have to urinate (blue of course) at in opportune times over the next week.

of course the fey are going to want to watch all this happen so they won't be far away. IF they get into real danger they will help in the fight or try to rescue them and heal them after the victory/escape. Good humor will earn their friendship. Poor reactions will not make enemies but their reactions will be cold.
The entire experiment may ultimately not work. But as Tiger Woods tears into the springbok, his mouth crimson with blood, he looks to have all the makings of a natural-born killer.

palladium 'fairy food' tends to be more immediate prank value, with different foods doing things like make you change colors, shapechange, feel specific emotions, etc.

palladium fairy's don't seem the vindicitive, long punishment types as opposed to just tricksters with short interest spans..

but a more "fae" style fairy idea with a more vindictive viewpoint and a new type of fairy food might be interesting anyway.

Greetings and Salutations. I think that was a light-hearted joke in relation to Palladium Fantasy (in general). PF (and possibly the work of Bill Coffin) would be the sweet nectar. Then there's Land of the Damned One, Two ... and the still missing Three which has been 10 years and was supposed to be out, again, in 2012).

As for Faerie Pranks ... can't say I've ever done many. Most of my faeries are more like kids with ADD. Usually when they pull a prank it's just childish (lame and annoying, but they think it's funny). Their greatest pranks tend to come when they're being helpful. :P

"We can't play with you. We're stuck on this ship [as passengers/crew]."
"Oh, I can fix that!" *Teleports them all off the ship (but doesn't know where).*
"Bring us back!"
"But you said you were stuck. Now we can play. :D"
"That's not what we meant! We have to get back to our ship friends."
"Well we can't be gone that long. 10 years tops."
"That's a long time. We're not all immortal!"
" :? "

Or the time when one lost a player character's treasured item (given to him by a little kid he had rescued and meant a lot). Or walking in on a female while she was changing (because it didn't comprehend privacy). I don't play them exactly by the book of course. They're more like random creatures of magic and chaos. Oh ... and at least one liked to set horses on fire (allegedly, and/or scare/torment them). Anyways, that's all for now. Thank you for your time and patience, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys for now.

Sounds better than my idea... I had in mind that since all the ingredients were different kinds of faerie food, maybe all the individual effects would take place?
