Except for this:

Group dynamics means getting the group to mold together. Petty differences, squabbles, and the like is an interesting side show but never the focal point of the group. Deal with bigger themes that drive people crazy like paranoia, fear, and guilt and encourage characters to stay away from the small stuff like envy, and greed. Again, a small dose of the petty squabbles can enliven the group, but too much turns a good campaign into a shoddy rip-off of a T.V. melodrama
On the contrary, i think you should ramp these up.
Envy and greed are awesome motivators for characters, especially characters who don't have anything and want what the other guy has. In good survival games, the PCs' equipment list should be the shortest thing on their character sheets. They should have barely anything in the way of possessions, making what little they do have all that more important.
It's even more fun when the other guy is a fellow PC on whom the envious character needs to rely for base survival. Sure you could just shoot him and take his food/ammo/woman/whatever, but then that ultimately would leave you one man short in the group and who knows what kind of reaction the other PCs would have. The character may have to get what he wants another way or *gasp* man up and do without, for the sake of the group. All-in-all, it's good drama and good drama makes good survival gaming.
