Temporary TW items

How would you add to the current TW rules, to make it possible for TW to make temporary TW items?

Like they only last x number of days/weeks/months/years and after that they no longer function as magical items.

Perhaps (for days or weeks) that could speed up construction time of the TW device perhaps. For a temp TW item lasting months or years (unless you mean active the whole time) I cant think of a reason for.

Planned obsolescence? I would add a creation penalty based on how specific of a time frame the creator wants the item to cease working. My reasoning is that in order to make an otherwise permanent enchantment temporary, an inherent flaw must be built into the item. The length of time the item lasts could be estimated by the type of flaw, but there would be a random element to the exact moment when the item stopped working which the creator could mitigate by accepting increased creation penalties.
