Hey all have some questions about the HU Major Super Ability, Mechano-Link, in Rifts:
1. Would the Bonus +20% to all Computer Electrical and Mechanical skills Apply to the Following: Salvage and Field Armorer and Munitions Expert and Computer Hacking?
2. Would the base 60% to Operate and Understand Unfamiliar Machines include the following?:
---) Operating Sensors and Weapons Systems....
---) Repairs....
---) Provide the equivalent of Robot and Power Armor Combat Basic, Automatically (In Rifts)....
3. Would it negat the skill penalty for conversion that all Conerted characters receive (Least with hard tech.. similar to the Hardware Chars...).
Of Rifts, HU2 Mutants, and Mechano link..

There is no roll to reprogramming, actually. it's not a bonus, it's an automatic success. you automatically succeed at hacking and reprogrammnig whenever you make the attempt. as for salvage and field armorer...it's a military skill, so technically no, but i'd let it work anyway if I was gm

yes
---) Repairs....
No, only the 20% bonus to the mechanical skills which are what you use for repair
---) Provide the equivalent of Robot and Power Armor Combat Basic, Automatically (In Rifts)....
No, you still need training. but i'll point out that taking robot combat elite X in any mecha automatically gives you basic in all others, so i'd go that route.
however, the power also says "can instutually fight, and it responds to your thoughts". so even without any skill, you could fight in the mecha, you just would not enjoy the bonus's of robot combat.

It would render it largely moot, yes.
