Question for people here in the forums.
I've often played that if something attempts to probe a targets mind with Telepathy, Bio-Manipulation or Empathic Transmission and that target saves vs Psi, that the target knows something happened. Someone was trying to get into their mind. Not who usually, but that something was trying to get into their mind.
I know some Psi abilities state this for other psychics, such as Remote Viewing, but I thought somewhere in one of the books it blanketly stated this for others as well.
Anyone know if it does say this in the books somewhere? Or was this just some sort of house rule I thought was official?
Thanks,
FM

AFAIK that's just a house rule.

I was worried about that. Anyone else have any other input?

Re: Empathic Transmission Failure
The way that I've played it out, was if the saving throw was successful against Empathic Transmission, then the way I describe it to the targeted PC/NPC would be that for a brieft moment they feel a passing, irrational emotion based on what feeling the attacking psychic was attempting to empart.
But to echo the other responses, there is no hard rule for that.

Re: Empathic Transmission Failure
IMO Master psychics and psychics with powers from the Sensitive psionics should be able to tell if they're being probed. Other psychics would be a case-by-case basis based on their powers. Non-psychics shouldn't know unless they have a high ME maybe.
It'll never work that way though because most people would be like "Who's attacking me!?" once you tell them to make their save.
