Prowl Question
How do you do prowl? Like as written if you sneak up on someone you roll prowl a fail they see/hear you a pass you sneak up on them, but what if they have enhanced hearing or sight or other augmentations. What if their a dog boy and might smell you coming up. How do you factor in the target being prowled on?
Perception isn't in all books and is a D20 roll and there doesn't seem to be rules I can find to attach it to OCC not in the RUE, nor rules for bonuses for enhanced or supernatural sight, hearing, smell even taste.
Just a player of mine is going to be a sneaky Dog Boy, I know he will prowl a lot and vice verca he will have the senses to detect people prowling on him, how should I run it. Are there rules I'm missing?

Re: Prowl Question
You use opposed 1D20 rolls (its written in the R:UE under the rules for perception).
First the hiding character rolls a skill check. If they are successful roll 1D20 +1 for every 10% in the prowl skill. So someone with a prowl skill of 50% would add +5. Then, the people that might have a chance to hear/see the character roll 1D20 + any perception bonuses.
If hiding character has the high roll they are unseen. If the "spotter" gets the high roll than they see the character.
Characters with the Detect Concealment or Detect Ambush skill (who are actively searching for someone before the hider hides!) can roll a skill check also. If they are successful, than the "spotter" adds +1 to their perception roll for every 10% in the skill. Thus a character with a perception bonus of +5 and Detect Concealment at 30% (who made their skill check) would roll 1D20+8.
Hope this has helped.

Re: Prowl Question
I use what I call "skill dueling". If they have some kind of enhancements I add penalties to the prowl.
If they have a counter skill, like a dog boys sense of smell, I use the prowl as a penalty. Example: guy with prowl of 60% rolls a 30%, I apply a 30% penalty to the dog boys sense of smell to see if he detects him. I also let the players neutralize the ability prowling from up wind.

Ditto, It's not perfect, and requires things to jump around a lot, but I think it's fair in a RPG world.

Re: Prowl Question
There's rules for it and I think it's covered in another forum topic. I follow the book rules. D20 +1 for each 10% of the prowl skill, I believe. And perception is handled a different way, I think Nightbane has a chart for it.

Re: Prowl Question
I prefer to just have players roll the percentile if the opponent isn't alerted/actively looking for them. If they are looking, then I'd have both sides roll, as per the RUE rules.
There's really not much point rolling both sides, if the other side really has no modifier. May as well just roll percentile.
