I am Hoping thers a Beyond the Supernatural,s Book for 2014?
I do not care if it,s the Monsters or Magic,s One!

If ther to hard to make why not make BtS,s Adventure sourcebooks of 64 pages reprinting the Adventures from Rifter.

They should do an insider for Beyond Arcanum - I'd be all over that.

Tome Grotesque is less of a priority IMO as the megaverse is already populated with plenty of nasties.

Agreed on Arcanum over Grotesque.

Ley Lines, Nexus Points, PPE usage, ritual, cults, cursed objects, not to mention actual spells and how they are cast. You know, the little things...

Makes a lot of sense. I'd like to see both those books. Sure would be cool to see at least one of them next year.

I haven't played a BTS game for a very long time. The last one we had turned into Nightbane part way through. I'm don't think I could make the time for it on top of our Rifts and PFRPG. However, I would probably get both Monsters and Magic, even if it's just to give me ideas for the UWW.

I would not be to surprised to see some palladium RPG or BTS book next year (well depending how long it takes them to bang out NG2 and megaverse in flames). Once those are done they will have had a pretty healthy number of rifts books to boost the company and with the robottech mini game hopefully in full swing then should finally put them back firmly on their feet with a modest warchest to work with so they can actually afford to make some supplements for their other game lines.

I would love to see a splicers book hell just a compilation of all the rifter material for it in one book would be a pretty darn good supplement.

While I have issues with an Insider, I'd really love to get the Beyond Arcanum book first as I really feel they need to do magic as I can kludge together monsters based on the magic and main book.

Even though I have issues with how they do the Insiders, I'd be hard pressed not to participate in an Insider for BTS, to streamline the system, or if they did one to hire an editor.

Even if they do an insider, you will not see a book for two years. Unless something changes fundamentally at PB.

Why?
Kevin has stated that only he would write for BTS.
No manuscript has been turned in.
He has notes, and probably good chunks written, but may need to change drastically due to time languishing and his newer style of writing.
80% and a few weeks away = about a year in Kevin Speak
And the last one just on the top of my head - Kevin has stated writing for Rifts is easier (IE speedier), than for any other line.

Would I like him to produce all the books he wants. Yes. Realistically, Rifts and Robotech pay the bills (and I only say Robotech because he has a license)

Maybe we can get a Kickstarter to pay a years salary for Aten or White to be a line editor?

Heck, I'd probably pay good money for someone to be a consistency checker. Just to keep bonuses in same locations and places.

I know I'd pay good money for a true rules update with consistency.

I think you would be better off not having him give any timeline and just buckling down and working on it. Then when he is done, he can tell people when it should ship.

Beyond Arcanum all the way.

However I do not think the magic system is going to all THAT different guys. I think it will be more "revised" ala psionics in the core book with maybe some modifications from Chaos Earth magic to some degree.

The pipeline is starting to look like 2015 at best. I think Robotech put them in a position where he won't be able to dedicate the time needed til things calm down with that.

Yes, the key here is "Robotech"...it all depends on this Kickstarter, IMHO.

I'd save up money & contribute to this. But ONLY if Kev did this :If he had 80% of the work done first, with art ,final edits & layouts only to be done.

Hey that sounds like the same BS that was fed to us RRT backers! :badbad:

My friend I hope you get your book someday. But I have to agree with the influx of RRT players out there something tells me this place might get even more crowded and it'll keep other books from coming out.

You do not him doing this with 80% of the book done. Why? NG-1 was supposedly 4-6 weeks out from being complete in June of 2012 when he did the insider for it. Same for NG-2 in July of the same year. Vampires Sourcebook was supposedly 80% complete in august of 2011 with no insider. Lemuria was "almost done" for about 6-8 months or so before he did the insider for it. NG1 was about 18 months late with the odd occurrence of a prototype being offered at Gencon to anyone who happened to be there in august 2013 even though the people that paid up front were offered no such thing until after Gencon and the remaining prototypes were brought back to Detroit and sold off. NG-2 is still not out. Vampires was about 18 months late. Lemuria was 2 months late of the Insider projection on top of the being "almost done" for the previous 6-8 months before the insider was launched.

They should NOT do an insider until Wayne is doing final layout to go to the printer and not a day sooner. THEN they can offer the extras and do an insider. Otherwise, I am afraid to say you will only get the same end result as always. A book projected for a date that will be missed by months to possibly years.

I say again BTS,s Adventure sourcebooks would be a perfect way to go.
They can make the Pcc,Monsters and Adventures from Rifter canon.

Tell me what do you like from Rifter to made canon?
For Me it,s the Court of the Tarot?

I would concur on the beyond arcanum first. With things like the dark conversions book and all the rifts/palladium rpg/nightbane stuff there are plenty of monsters for GMs to use if they wish. Given BtS very low PPE level the magic book could be very useful to see how they work it and harder to convert from other settings.

Sigh...I'm boycotting all Palladium products until both Beyond Arcanum and Tome Grotesque are released. I'm kinda thinking that they'll never see the light of day.

I've moved on to other companies...ones that keep promises and release schedules.

Damn shame too.

Okay. I'd like that. But let us be realistic. They are still dealing with Robotech RPG Tactics and working on books they claimed would be out in 2012. I'd like to see an Insider to fund Beyond Arcanum in 2016, with a goal of printing it in 2018.That gives them over a year and then if it id done early people will be impressed instead of let down.

I'm of the opinion that a KS or CS wouldn't do that well. But I sure would like to see them try one for it, if that is what it took to get the ball rolling. Keep in mind if they used kickstarter they could reward the higher levels with the Core (book) BTS-as it is I don't think the line is selling all that well and it might help out, as well as Kickstarter is its own sort of advertising-

I'm not sure that it would do any less well then say NG 1 & 2 did mainly because I believe those that MI'd those books were the hardcore fans who will buy any book PB puts out. Regardless if this is true or not, all PB titles only appeal to a certain niche in the market, that being the fans. The fans will buy it and make it worth it.

That is my guess but while it threw them into a loop it it also looks like it put them into a more financially stable loop so long term outcome looks promising it is just last year into this years production schedules really got punched in the schnoz.

After NG2, the next three books should go relatively quickly. Graveyard Earth and Robotech Marines will be quick edits (Harmony Gold revisions the biggest hold up of the two) and Megaverse in flames should be quick for a book of its size. After that, it will be awesome to see what else is on the table.

Kevin rarely does simple quick edits, but the Dead Reign books have been slim and fairly easy to get out quickly.
I don't see him putting out any BTS books this year. It has already been how long now since he said he would do them and they still are not done?

Well, He's also going to be finishing up the Minion War series, so there is a precedent.

That one has been mentioned, as have a number of Chaos Earth and Splicers Books. If Palladium has it their way, there will be a number of quick, smaller releases for some of neglected games lines that can help breathe life into them.

An aside note here, Kevin mentioned in a post a month or so back that "Tome Grotesque" will not be "Tomes Grotesque" meaning that there will be multiple books being published, probably smaller sized books and set up in themes and styles. This could mean that a Tome could conceivably come out before arcanum due to size.

Personally, I'm equally excited for both to come out. I'm very interested in a magic system, but I love monsters as well. :)

While the list isn't in chronological order but rather the order they appear in the 2013 catalog, they had some due for release in 2013 but I have no idea where in the pipeline they are compared with the other titles that didn't make it out on time.

Robotech UEEF Marines: 2013
Robotech RPG Tactics: 2013
Rifts Chaos Earth First Responders 2013
Rifts Chaos Eart Resurrection 2013
Northern Gun 1: Not listed as Upcoming as they apparently assumed it would be out by the time the catalog went to print
Northern Gun 2: Jan 2013
Megaverse in Flames: Early 2013
" Additional Nightbane® Sourcebooks are currently in development as we intend to release more new sourcebooks
for this dynamic game line."
Tome Grotesque: 2013
Beyond Arcanum: 2013
Land of the Damned 3: 2013
"Splicers® Sourcebooks: We plan to expand the Splicers® game setting to epic proportions with six new sourcebooks planned for 2013. More on them in the months to come.:
Rifts: Antarctica: 2013
Rifts: Secrets of the Atlanteans: 2013
Rifts: Sovietski 2013
Rifts: Delta Blues (2013 tentative)
Rifts: Dark Woods (2013 tentative)
Rifts: Voodoo and Spirit world (2013 tentative)
"We have several other sourcebooks in the process of being written and developed by a number of freelancer writers for 2013
release, including at least one or two sourcebooks for Heroes Unlimited™, Dead Reign™, Nightbane®, Palladium Fantasy
RPG®, and a few surprises."
