Dragon Metamorphosis

I have several questions about the Dragon ability Metamorphosis.

1) They say that the minimum size is that of a house cat, does that mean volume or weight?
2) The duration of the transformation is 2 hours per level, is that per form or cumulative?
3) Is there a limit to the kinds of forms beyond not being able to become an inanimate object?
4) Can a Dragon use the metamorphosis to change his size to something much smaller (1/4th to 1/12 the size)?

Good question and I will give my opinions on the answer for you.

Q1. Size it is. It states minimum size so not connected to weight.

Q2. I recon cumulative

Q3. Within reason such as beings he is aware of I believe. I don't think imaginary forms are possible.

Q4. Hmm similar definitions in Q1. Not sure what ur asking.

Regarding question 2, Sb1 page 10:
The maximum duration a dragon can maintain a metamorphosis is two (2) hours per each level of experience, within a 48 hour period. Thus a first level dragon can shape change for a total of two hours, at second level four hours, third level six hours, Fourth level eight hours and so on. At the end of this period, the dragon will revert to its natural dragon shape whether it wants to or not. Once the dragon has used up all its metamorphosis time, it can not perform another metamorphosis for 24 hours. This means that a second level dragon can perform and/or maintain metamorphosis for a total of four hours within a 48 hour period. Within that four hour period the creature could alter its shape 20 or more times, but once it has used up the four hours, it can not shape change again until 24 hours has passed.

Metamorphosis implies changing form, what if I wanted to stay in the form of a Dragon but much smaller?

PFRPG Dragons and Gods, pg 15, Item 14. Dragons can alter their size at will. Can reduce their natural full size by up to 60% in any increments.

That makes a Great Horned hatchling 9 1/2 feet tall, 22 1/2 feet long and 9 1/2 tons that is a bit big to walk around inside a building made for humans. Where as 1/12 size is easier to move around in building and dungeons.

Well answered.

If it was just metamorphosis I would play it as though you weren't altering the size of the creature you're imitating but it's age. Ie you could turn into a smaller hatchling or a cub as long as it met any other requirements.

The ability to reduce their size is separate from their metamorphosis.
