Conversion

Unread post by jade von delioch »

I have come to the conclusion that, though I enjoy the setting, that the Palladium has to many large holes in it's rules system. Particularly for my game group and its play style. So What I want to do is convert it over to a different rule set, a Non-D&D rule set. Currently I am thinking Hero System, but I want to see what other suggestions were out there. Any opinions?

I'm not asking for conversion notes - which would get Kevin in a Tissy-Fit since he is unlikely to ever think he needs to improve the game system, even though hundreds of fans have said otherwise.

I'm only looking for suggestions on other systems.

If you want simple dragon warriors was fun for a bit, otherwise id go with exalted or mage.

Hackmaster has a free version and a lot of mechanical similarities to Palladium, but is better constructed.

I am a major Hackmaster booster these days. It has some tone problems, IMO, but it works really well together. I've been playing it for a few years now.

Thanks. There's a free PDF on Kenzer's website, covering a few of the major classes and races up to 5th level.

I'm really digging it now that I have sat down and started to read through it. Its the direction that they should have gone with D&D. thats for sure.

Not sure if or when we will be making the change to another system. I might in fact just Design a heartbreaker system of palladium like a lot of people are doing with 2nd and 1st edition D&D. kind of already started to work on it.

Everybody's got a heartbreaker in their closet. ;-) Heck, I went and named one Heartbreaker.
