Since the Frankenmecha thread was locked, it seemed more appropriate to post this little zipper about zombies, Robotech, and IMUs here:

Some freaky kitbash mecha and a Halloween setting for the season.

And the Turning of a Page"

Based on the title tal. I was expecting something like out of Bubblegum Crisis 2040 when the deactivated boomers in the ADP basement reactivated...

Nah, we're talking mecha versus (full-sized Zentraedi)zombies here. Time to get those coal-cutting motor-blades and make some giant chainsaws!

Re: ZombieMecha
How would full-sized Zentraedi become zombies? Being exposed to genetically-altered Flowers of Life spores? Resizing from a damaged chamber? Bad clone batch?

Re: ZombieMecha
at some points i've thought about how you could adapt storylines from other scifi settings to robotech.. for example, i decided Halo could be done in the shadow chronicles timeperiod, with haydonites filling in with the covenant (and the Halo being some ancient 'proto-haydonite' device).. which would make the 'flood' be replaced by some sort of proto-invid.. which i figured could be an organism that infects and takes over mecha.. (perhaps similar to the 'paranoids' from Gall Force)
you wouldn't have to resort to the particular storyline to use the idea of an alien lifeform that absorbs mecha though.

The rest of the website has it being a genetically-engineered virus...a bio-weapon gone (inevitably) bad.
