Rules Question - # of attacks with Kain Weller in a Spartan

Should be a simple one, but just wanted to confirm.

Page 48, Spartan gets to make 1 additional hand to hand attack each turn for free. Kain Weller can pilot a Spartan, and also gets to make 1 additional hand to hand attack each turn for free.

So Kain piloting a Spartan gets 3 hand to hand attacks a turn?

I modeled a Spartan with 2 shock batons, this will be Kain's ride. :-D

Yup...He can rock the face to face confrontations.

You would have to buy the stun baton built in upgrade (only once) for the squad if you want him to use those beautiful things.

Otherwise he gets 3 standard Hand to Hand attacks.

He also gets a free speed boost too. So he's zapping across the table at a minimum of 14" a turn. Potentially more if you decide to spend some command points on it.

Though one lone Spartan too far ahead of support against entire squads probably doesn't end well.

Not to say there won't be a place for such daring charges, but leaving the rest of his squad trailing too far behind seems risky, from a purely theorycrafting stance.

I would like to make a seperate but similar point here that the rules of the shock baton state that it can only be used once per turn, so while modeling him with 2 is just awesome and fluffy and good for you. You cant actually buy him a second one in game meaning he still only makes 1 shock baton attack the other two hand to hand attacks have to be some thing else ei: stomp, kick etc...
Why are they using such primative weapons?
