Character Creation Questions
Anyone have a step by step guide/resource for initial character creation? I must be missing something because the process seems a little cloudy to me beyond the three initial percentile rolls for ST/AG/AT (Strength, Agility and Alertness). The selection of MOS, skills, proficiency levels, etc is where I am kind of stuck and seem to be unclear.

Re: Character Creation Questions
Step 1:
Roll for Characteristics (page 10)
Roll d100 for Strength
Roll d100 for Alertness
Roll d100 for Agility
Step 2:
Derived Characteristics like Height and Weight, Age and Modifiers for Mercenaries (page 12)
Step 3:
Skills
Everyone gets Assault Rifle, Grenade Throwing, Climbing and Basic Infantry skills.
Choose 2 MOS's, one Primary and one Secondary MOS
Primary MOS list
Grenadier
Intelligence
Medic
Point
Pigman
RTO
Sniper
Secondary ONLY MOS list
Demolitions
Heavy Weapons
Once you have selected your 2 MOS's, check page 14 and add up the number of skills you get. If you chose Demo or Heavy Weapons, the bonuses are included in the writeup paragraph on page 12.
If you are using Mercenaries...it works the same way, but the descriptions are on page 22 and the number of skills listed are on page 23. It works the same way, choose 2 MOS's and add up the number of skills by type.
Once you have the number of skills your character has by type (Small Arms, Heavy Arms, Hand to Hand and Non-Weapon Skills), just look through the lists of skills and pick the ones you want.
Step 4:
Choose alignment (page 26)
Step 5:
Choose equipment
I hope that helps.

Re: Character Creation Questions
Looks good and close to what I was thinking rereading the section several times. I am going to roll up a guy this weekend and post the results along with any other questions that I may have come up.

Re: Character Creation Questions
Have started rolling up my first character.
ST 36
AL 32
AG 93
My guy may not be the strongest or most alert/aware......but his sure has a high agility!
He is 5'10-199 lbs and 24 years old. I picture an ex high school football RB or WR star that gained 20 pounds once his playing days ended.
I am now choosing MOS. Primary choice is Intelligence.
Here is where I have a couple more questions:
1. Does the secondary MOS have to be Demolitions or Heavy Weapons? Or can it be one of the other?
2. The skill allocations are only awarded via the numbers according to primary MOS, right?

Re: Character Creation Questions
Answers to your questions:
1. The secondary MOS can be anything you want...but Demo and Heavy weapons can ONLY be secondary MOSs...so you could have Intel as your primary and Medic as your secondary. The skill allocations are from Intel (your primary), but you get the little blub like benefit from the medic write up since you have that as your secondary.
SO you would get: Intelligence (Intel) Intelligence specialists are always trying to find out what the enemy is up to. Intelligence, Interrogation, Impersonation and SafecrackingILockpicking skills are available only to the Intelligence MOS.
AND you would get these skill points: 2 small arms, 1 Heavy arms, 2 Hand to Hand and 5 Non weapon skills
AND if you chose Medic as your secondary you would also have access to Medic skill...
Basically, the secondary MOS makes more skills available, but you pay for them out of your Primary MOS skill points.
2. Yes
