Am looking to make an NPC Horned Dragon for one of my games and in Dragons and Gods it states that in addition to magic abilities on a roll of 91-100 the character can have another alien magic or a NON-MAGIC discipline.

It hadn't crossed my mind till this point but I liked the idea of a Dragon that has been masquerading as a Paladin for a few 100 years.

It says skills are limited to OCC skills and 4 other skills limited to that OCC.

Would said Dragon be able to learn hand to hand martial arts? What about the Paladin Demon death blow.

The wording, especially where it says "including scholar merchant or entertainer" is a tad confusing.

When it says other non magical OCC does that mean he/she could be a thief, assassin, soldier?

Are there any in book examples of Dragons with hand to hand combat training?

Sorry if this has already been covered. I also know that Dragons don't tend to care too much about human skills but this character may have been raised from his hatchling years by a Paladin Titan that found him (or something).

The dragon-gods in that book don't have non-magical O.C.C.s or martial arts skills listed, but they don't really need them either.

I don't see a problem with them learning it, but I do like the idea that if you learn something in humanoid form you should remain in roughly human form to use it. Of course, that's not to say a dragon can't fight bipedally and stuff...

Sure, I'd allow it. I'd also go further... dragons are extremely intelligent and powerful, so one who spent a century as a palladin should be able to work out how to apply what he's learned to his natural form... it will certainly mark his fighting style ("He tends to parry with his left arm, due to his century of using a shield"), but I wouldn't impose anything like "He loses all these bonuses when he's in dragon form."

WP Lance seems like something that should only apply on horseback much less human form.

For my Cyborg hero i made a Great Horned Hatching Dragon Physical Training Hero as his Nemesis.

Rifts Ultimate Edition does provide Dragon Hatchlings with an instinctual hand to hand combat (pg 349) that is easily adapted to other settings. Of course it is best used in their natural, serpentine form... but then that form is best suited for combat in most situations anyways.
