Tell me how do you defind the 3 Psionic Catagories?

The Physical:


the Healing:


The Sensitives:

I think they are self-explanitory for the most part.

I don't think there can be much bending of them.

While yes there is the Different cats in BTS2 there are few new ones there that could not be grouped in one of the basic 3.

I used to have an elaborate set of definitions, but I found them frustrating, because no one else followed them.

Healing: As specifically pertaining to the health and well-being of either self or others. Has overlap with other categories but is it's own due to the mindset/orientation.

Sensitive: Sight beyond sight. Abilities pertaining to the mind's eye. Geared towards sensing things and gathering information which is unknowable to a non-psychic.

Physical: As pertaining to the body or objects. Manipulation without regard to the well-being of the subject. Used for a variety of effects.

Super, don't forget super psionics.

The Reason why I ask to defind Psionic catagories is to help me come up with ideas for new psychic powers.
So that when with I have two or more Psychic characters in my group that powers will be very different.

Check out Beyond the Supernatural Second Edition, Heroes Unlimited Powers Unlimited One, and Nightbane Between the Shadows for some cool additional powers not seen elsewhere in the Megaverse.

Moving beyond the different standard psi cat's are difficult without wandering into abilities that in most settings are only ascribed/given to magic (and superpowers).

So another place you might want to check-out is the crystal mage's psionic devices in PF1 Island at the Edge of the World.

There's some psionics worth considering too in the Nightbane book "Shadows of Light" - those powers are found in the various classes but there's notes that those powers can all be used by other psychics at increased cost. A few of the Rifters also have psionic powers worth considering, but they need some good G.M. review in order to determine if they're right for your game. Those Rifters are #1, #9, #25, #44, and 57. I also personally like the idea of the Latent Psionics available to Chaos Earth characters (in Rifter #50) being available as options for psychic characters, too. And lastly there's the New Psionic Powers thread in this forum you could check out and mine some ideas from, too.

It may also be worth checking Palladium Fantasy. I can recall at least one psi-power that's unique to that setting (a psychic Teleportation) and there may be others.
