I am about to launch my new campaign for Dead Reign and I'm in LOVE with he random encounter tables but I want to know how much do you use them versus plotting out every aspect of the adventure. I'm starting with a well plotted start but plan on using the random tables and pushing the survival aspect of the game.
Has this worked out for you? Or is running a tighter plot better?
Some advice on starting up a new campaign.

Re: Some advice on starting up a new campaign.
I recommend that if you are using random tables, that you pre-roll them ahead of time. You can record the results and have a list of "mini-scenarios" ready to go whenever you need a moment to catch your breath between actual plot points. Random tables being rolled in front of the players might seem like fun, but in my experience it quickly becomes a disorganized mess, and a burden on your game.
