Haven't Posted anything for a while. So, here is something from an my old notebooks.

Undertown

Location somewhere between three Xiticix Hives


The Under-Earth is an immense series of caverns, chambers, and tunnels
under the surface of Northern America throughout the Xiticix Hivelands.
While the entrances to the Underlands can be found easily, it is
dangerous for travellers to venture into the Xiticix Hives to reach
Undertown... the Xiticix for starters, unsafe depths, change structures
for those unprepared, claustrophobia, occasional poor air circulation,
and of course death (too many other ways to list).

Undertown preserves its superficial appearance of independence but in
reality is an pawn of an Lesser Alien Power which built the city and
formed the government. It is sovereign and mostly runs itself but is
guided from time to time by this alien force for reasons of Unknown.


Everything is Centered on killing and harvesting Xiticix. All part of
the Xiticix are brought back to Undertown for recycing and Bug Juice
Alchemy. Over 5 million are harvested yearly; However, what few realize
is 95% are not harvested from Earth. The tunnels from Undertown lead to
a Xiticix Homeworld and that is where the Xiticix hunting takes place.
All Xiticix weapons are collected and sold to allies of Undertown.

Exception is the Resin Guns are never sold: too much profit in resin
items, repairs and reinforcing Undertown. Bodies and organs are used to
make armor, weapons, and Bug Juice Alchemy (Humans find it deadly
however supernatural beings drinking the elixirs benefits similar
Wormwood's slimes and ointments).

Currency of Undertown is the Coin and the Bit.
Under Coin is worth 100 credits
Under Bit is worth 10 credits
10 Bits in 1 Coin
Under Bank will convert your credits into coins
Under Shop will convert items into coins [25% to 50% value]
---No one converts coins to credits---
All shops, mystic services, and bills are payed in Under Coins.
Coins are another system of controls put into place by the Outside
Power. The coins are spent in Undertown and and worthless outside the
city unless trading with the city. However, after 2 months coins turn to
dust; coins are rotated to prevent this from happening in town.


Population: an impressive 125,200 with 4d6x100 visitors

A combination of over a hundred Mercenary groups for a total of 18k Bug
Hunters and 10K part time freelance Mercenaries. It is a simple life of
killing Bugs and living Large.

Full Time must kill 5 bugs per week and is payed +25 coins per month****
Part Time must kill 1 bug per week and is payed +5 coins per month***

Senator[1 per 100 Beings] currently: 1252 payed +15 coins per month****
Term of service 5 years

Experts payed 10 coins per month**/***
Skilled payed 5 coins per month*/**
Unskilled payed 2 coins per month

The Under Guild offers Free training in the following:

-Combat Mage training offered: 2-3 years (night classes only 6-9 years)

-Minion Mage training offered: 3-4 years (night classes only 9-12 years)
Conjure Elemental Minions as warlock but cannot tap the PPE of creature
[that is for the elemental powers] and minor 1-6th common magic (not
elemental)...May learn 1 summon/Control Spell up to level 12 at level
4,8 and 12 at half normal PPE cost.

-Medic(Aid) Mage training offered: 3 year (night classes only 9 years)
[Spells 1-8th level plus Blue Flame Healing:
1/2 PPE for healing spells but Double PPE for offensive
magic/Summoning/Control].

-Tattoo Adept offered: 4 years (tattooes: 2 MdC monster, 2 MD weapon, 2

SDC monsters, and 2 SDC weapon tattoo): 1-2 tattoo at 3, 6, 9, 12 , and

15 [ 16 total tattooes max]

or

-Under Knight [Witch] pact offered: 2 years (training, Empowered, then

retraining) and starts with 1000 Under Coins.



--And--

The Under Guild is provides spider silk armor 30 mdc and hood/mask 20
mdc...free to all members and not for sale outside guild. The Masters
get Enchanted Silk 60 MDC and Hood/Mask 40 MDC with Immunity to Energy
also turns to dust in 2 months.


All Healing Offered be the City as follows:

Cleanse (1), cure illness (2), cure minor disorder (3), Cure Phobia (5),
exorcism (10 and maybe free if unique entity), Healing Waters (4 per
visit), purge other (8), purification (2), restore limb (50), stone to
flesh (1K plus storage), remove curse (20), psychic surgery (1 to 20 but
double for an expert), restoration (2K), Revive or Breath of Life (5K)
and Resurrection (25K)


Temporary Magic Items:
~Weapon melee
Example
30 SDC = 15 MDC
1d8 sd = 1d8 mdc
enchantment lasts 2 months...then turns to dust
cost 2 (outside city 10)

~Resin or MDC material Better
Example
30 MDC = 60 MDC
1d8 sc = 2d8 mdc
enchantment lasts 2 months...then turns to dust
Cost 6 (outside city 30 )

~Arrows and bullets = 1d6 md
enchantment lasts 2 months...then turns to dust
Cost 1 coin per dozen


Recharge Clip [magic or energy] (5), Magic pigeon (5 bits or half coin),
mend the Broken (1 per MD) or non-Magical MDC repair via Resin a mere 2
(for a bad patch) to 5 bits (will even match paint...looks great) per MD
point.


Undertown Resin Armor:

UT-Ultra Light MDC 20 and Helm 15 MDC...cost 4 coins (outside 20)
UT-Light MDC 40 and Helm 30 MDC...cost 8 coins (outside 40)
UT-Medium MDC 60 and Helm 45 MDC...cost 12 credits (outside 60)

UT-Shield Light MDC 30...cost 6 coins (outside 30)
UT-Shield Medium MDC 60...cost 12 coins (outside 60)
UT-Shield Heavy MDC 90...cost 18 coins (outside 90)


Enchanted Undertown Resin Armor:
---Double MDC but turns to dust in 2 months---

UT-Ultra Light MDC 40 and Helm 30 MDC...cost 5 coins (outside 25)
enchantment lasts 2 months...then turns to dust
UT-Light MDC 80 and Helm 60 MDC...cost 10 coins (outside 50)

UT-Shield: Light MDC 60...cost 8 coins (outside 40)

UT-Shield: Medium MDC 120...cost 16 coins (outside 80)
enchantment lasts 2 months...then turns to dust
UT-Shield: Heavy MDC 180...cost 24 coins (outside 120)

The Under Church
---Another Control measure via Outside Power---
Offers members and non members to visit the Under shrine [A simple TW-
Sustain device(12 Hours)]: for Free and even minor healing [minor
psychic or up to advanced first aid] services also free. A 12th level
Psychic High Priest [Empathic Transmission: Happiness/Joy]runs the this
pseudo-temple, 5th level Under Knight [Chaos Witch with knight skills],
and 10 Medic (Aid) Mages.

By "Lesser Alien Power" you mean some secretive species of D-bee/monster rulers or a powerful individual being like a supernatural intelligence or somesuch?

I vote for a "council" of lesser alien intelligences trying to carefully poke their noses into rifts earth, after all those lot don't have essence fragments and are a bit more concerned about that whole death thing, so pulling the strings from behind the curtain is much safer. It helps that those bug carapaces are crunch and make a nice snack mmmmm

How about a bit of both? Some supernatural critters tried to form a hive-mind and were partially successful. They still argue and discuss as semi-discrete entities but they're tied to each other and they DON'T have expendable drones like other hive-structure, eusocial species.

They study the Xiticix (or are just fanboys of hive structures) in the hopes of becoming their own zerg overmind someday.

Nightmartree, I love the idea. You can have supernatural Spider Kings and Queens ruling over Under-dark ... I mean Undertown :mrgreen:
