Fadetowns in modern Earth

Unread post by Axelmania »

Do you think it's possibly for fadetowns to exist in BTS like they do in Rifts (and presumably Chaos Earth) ? Or would the ley lines be too weak.

Reading about all the contradictory information in http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Springfield and http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Springfield%27s_State made me think that the only way you could explain such a place would be a network of interconnecting ley lines/nexi with a town moving around all over the place.

A goofy place like that could serve as a fun example of the problems that would exist in a Fadetown. You would probably have people in denial about it, not mentioning problems going on, sort of like the supernatural TV shows Haven or Gravity Falls. Perhaps with a group dedicated to silencing people who would discuss it openly or share evidence of it with the outside world.

BTS or Nightbane (where the populace are mostly in denial about the weird) seem better than something like HU where superheroes/wiards/aliens are presumably known to be mainstream.

It's perfectly possible. See Brigadoon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadoon_(film)) for an example. Excellent musical, well worth the time.
