some of those posts left out some of the really interesting bits from the conversations that produced them. like someone pointing out that the city with the holy pigeons and the sanitation department would be able to use that pigeon poop to fertilize their fields and get really good harvests as a result. and then another person pointing out that pigeon poop was the main ingredient in producing saltpeter for medieval gunpowder and explosives, and was useable as explosives even without the addition of carbon and sulfur.
